Gas Innova 7km/l at P45 per liter. 100k km will use 14,285 liters. At P45/L, P643k in fuel cost.
That's savings of 254k in fuel cost. Increase in fuel price will just widen the difference in favor of diesel.
There's other benefits getting a diesel, more torque means effortless driving even at full load. And if you decide to sell it later on, resale is much higher and it's more in demand in the 2nd hand market.
Negative is the NVH and more parts than can break. Turbo, intercooler, injectors, etc. Oil is just a few liters extra per service. Filters and consumables are dirt cheap for both.
Gas is okay if you're not gonna run a 100k in the time you plan to keep it. But beware, the 2.0 is gutless when loaded.
This debate has been going on since 2005 ever since the first gen Innovas and Fortuners. By now, I've seen d4ds run 200k to 300k without much issues.
