2011 H100 vs 2008 Urvan

Planning to enter the school bus business. Pinagiisipan ko kung ano mas maganda at praktikal sa dalawa.

H100:
PRO: - P818,000 brand new pwede iutang sa banko at maganda ang dating sa mga parents dahil bago pa sya.
- Wala problema in the next five years dahil may warranty sya
- tingin ko masarap imaneho (komportable) kaysa sa L300 dahil bago design.
- Mas marami sakay 21 seater at maluwag pa sa mga bag

CON: - Hindi ako magddrive.
- resale value nya, pag hindi ganun kaganda ang school bus biz malaki ang depreciation nya since brand new.
- Wala ako balita sa performance ng engine nya
- Baka mahina nag pang-ilalim nya. Starex ko na 2008 medyo may kalampag na sa ilalim ingat pa ako magmaneho lalo na sa lubak.

2007/08 Nissan Urvan:
PRO: - Proven reliability, Gamit ng mga GT express sigurado may piyesa at kaya gawin ng mekaniko sa kanto.
- Depreciation value hindi ganun kalaki ang tama pag binenta since second hand na sya.

CON: - Second hand
- konti ang sakay (12/15/18 seater) masikip pag may bag
- baka hindi ko maiutang sa banko since second hand o mas mataas ang rate nya.
- iba iba ang kulay.

Plano ko po kasi maglabas ng 2 to 3 na sasakyan. Tulong naman po mga tsikoteers want to know your opinion on this.

Opinion ko lang po:
*Hindi Pro ang 5 year warranty ng H100 dahil 5 years mo din siya kailangan ipa-service sa casa para mamaintain ang warranty. Sa laki ng gagastusin mo dun, kahit may malaki pang masira sa Urvan, hindi pa din siguro aabot sa laki ng magasasta mo sa 'Casa maintenance'. Advantage lang nun, maintenance siya and hindi siya downtime (less likely tumirik habang naghahatid ng mga bata). Pero kung may iba ka namang unit na pwede mag-back up, bale wala na sa iyo ang matirikan ng sasakyan kahit mga once a year lang.

*Masarap i-drive dahil bago. Tama po iyan. Mas madali din para sa driver gamitin yung mga controls kasi updated ang ergonomics niya unlike sa Urvan na malayo ang radio sa driver, yung mga controls walang ilaw kapag gabi, etc. Typical 1980's ergonomics. Ni walang lalagyan ng baso yung Urvan. Iniipit ko pa sa hita ko yung softdrinks ko para kong tanga. Yun nga lang nasasandal ang upuan ng Urvan at naaatras kung matangkad ka. Sa H100, babangga ka na sa rear wall ng cab if you try this.

*Pwede mo naman ikuha ng roof rack ang Urvan.

*Ano ba ang engine ng H100 ngayon? Kung yung 2.5 same lang siya ng sa Adventure at Pajero dati. Kung 2.7 na din, same iyan ng sa Pregio yung malakas mag-overheat pag naluma. Urvan, bulletproof ang engine nun. Ganun ang mga ambulance na nasasakyan ko. Hataw araw araw parang kumakarera pero hindi naman madali bumigay.

*Overall, I'd look at getting a second hand Urvan na makinis pa. Just make sure pa-check mo din ang aircon kasi baka mainitan mga bata.

*Yung H100 mas madali linisin ang passenger compartment. Taas mo lang upuan then kahit i-hose mo loob la problema. Sa Urvan may carpet pa and hindi natatanggal agad mga upuan.

*Btw, mas kumportable daw for kids yung naka-upo ng paharap kesa pa-gilid. Ayun lang sa mga chikiting dito. I think the parents will appreciate that too.

Ang engine ng H100 is the 79ps 2.6L N/A diesel found in the first of the 1st generation Starex's. Kung ako, ito nalang ikuha ko. It can seat more people and the bags (na kalaki-laki especially for the elementary kids) will not be a problem and would not need to be placed on the roof. And it is a newer design. IMHO kung school bus ang AUV type parin mas practical.

IMO, since 2-3 kukunin mo, kuha tigisa, then yung pangatlo yung tawag ng puso mo, para all covered ka. Nice review sir Otep,btw.

Baka FB type ang ibig sabihin sir. Practical yun, huwag ka lang kukuha ng matangkad na driver dahil magrereklamo at maikli ang cab.

Engine at aircon. Near bulletproof ang Urvan. Madali din i-service pag nasira.

H100, matibay din naman yung 2.6. Yung aircon hindi ko po alam saan sila kumukuha. Wala po kasing aircon yung units pagdating ng Pilipinas. Baka po sa Phil Air? Don't know kung ano reputation ng systems nila pero wala naman akong naririnig na hindi maganda so far.

No, of course not. By AUV I mean the sort with a cab and chassis single cab truck and a rear passenger box. Our church has a few H100's in their shuttle fleet and yes, Phil-Air ang aircon nila, its the one that stretches to the extreme rear and the vents are the circular sort that can fully close. Malamig naman siya.

Buhayin ko lang ang thread. Im looking to purchase either h100 or urvan. Both will be second hand. In the market, cheaper and easier to find ang urvan and im thinking i can just strip the carpet and remove the seats to have a big boxy cargo space. Ok lang ba sia to use commercially? It will be hauling light construction materials like tiles, plywood, basically stuff you can buy in wilcon and home depot. Occasionally, it will also be used to haul some debris. So my question is, which would be a better fit for the job, urvan or h100? Out na l300fb cos prone to asbu. Elf and canter is out din because sa office parking ito ipapark and occasionally i may have to drive it. Please advice!

the urvan gets my vote.
la lang.. koreyana kasi yung isa.

but personally,a pick up appears to be the type of vehicle you need.
put in a canopy, for security and weather protection.

I already have a pickup e. I need to carry long and tall objects e without it stick out of the vehicle. A pickup cant do that especially with a canopy. Im leaning towards the urvan too. I think both of them can carry 1000kgs naman. Ive yet to measure lang if kasya 10ft objects sa urvan pero kasi sa h100 sabi kasya daw mga 10ft
