sir hindi naman siguro masyado maiiwan AFAIK chalenger models in AU with VGT are 170+HP and SE available now 163HP kaya lang siguro mas matipid sa kunsumo yung bago kasi 2.5 4D56 and VGT if i were you ilang tulog na lang 2011 na baka may lumabas na for this two trucks then decide which is suit your needs

I am certain that 2011 Fort will altogether be a new design (so looking forward to it). Feeling ko, matatagalan ng konti bago mapailtan ng new design ang Monty but it will definitely be a bit depressing to find out that Mitsu will release a new engine (evgt ba yun?) next year kasi I just got the 2010 model. Sayang nga kung ganun. Sir, sa mga bibili ng mga new looks and upgraded designs ng Fort at Monty, pasakay naman.

Primary consideration between CUV and SUV is its use and driver preference/comfort. If you want an anti-Ondoy vehicle, the best option is a pumpboat.

I noticed sa spec sheet ng Montero and Fort, ground clearance is 215mm, while Sta Fe ground clearance is 200mm, which is the same with the Xtrail. Sorento has a lower ground clearance of 185mm.

With this in mind, a 15mm difference in ground clearance is minimal when it comes to flooding. That's only 1.5 cm. In this case, for city flooding problems, the SUV (Fort, Monty) and CUV (Sta Fe, Xtrail) are almost head to head.

So yung pambaha portion kaya rin ng Korean CUV.

I'd go for comfortable ride with space capacity of the CUV. My wife, however, likes the added feeling of security of perceived ride height of an SUV (Monty). Since this is the case, my wife is the final say so we are getting the Monty.

Weird nga eh, Mas bagay sa kanya Sta Fe and sakin ang Monty, pero prefer ko Sta Fe siya naman Monty. Haha.

Not sure they have parang wala eh, yung pickup version nila but still hindi parin yun the same exactly... And even then the pickups where they were derived didn't score good enough at least for me lalo na yung Hi-lux. The Strada seems good for a truck pero yun na nga FOR A TRUCK, in general mababa parin score nya for me... Sakin 4 star ang minimum, 5 star is of course preferred maganda din kung merong mention of IIHS Top Pick... And of course maganda din if tested BOTH in the US and EUROPE... And scoring high on BOTH!

Better have them ratings than have no ratings at all... Basta that's my opinion on 3rd world models and why I don't buy one, case closed!

If there's one thing Toyota could upgrade for its Fortuner, its the 2.5L diesel variant. In terms of power it really doesn't compare to the bas emodel of the MS.

Speaking of base models, we all heard that Monty GLS SE will have an all new VGT engine. Any word on the 2.5l variant? Would there be any significant upgrades for 2011 or would it be just another minor face lift?

I'm hoping the GLS Monty gets at least a 5 speed A/T tranny. The engine's pulling power is pretty decent for mild pulling duties.

+1 to you on this one Sir Kentanaka, Unfair as it would seem, but lets give Madam Ladyrider the benefit of the doubt, she might have mislook the obvious nuissance but then again, para ngang bias, kasi yung pangtaob ko sa bangka (pumpboat) nila wherein the link of Kia's Global recall of sorentos, soul and other models due to faulty wiring plus the resignation of Kia's Chairman just recently (Sept 7 of this year) were removed as well.
