Oo nga Montero at Fortuner na ang i-compare dito, huwag nang makisawsaw ang Hyundai, Kia, at Suzuki dito! Kung may hihirit pa ng pangit ang gawang 3rd world at mas maganda ang global, ito lang masasabi ko: ibenta mo na ang gawang 3rd world na kotse mo kung ako sa 'yo tutal sabi mo pangit ang gawang 3rd world. Sobra na pangangatsaw mo sa aming mga naka Montero Sport at Fortuner. Wala pakialamanan kung ano ang trip namin. Magkaiba tayo ng trip kaya respetuhin mo ang gusto namin dahil nirerespeto namin ang trip mo.

Not sure they have parang wala eh, yung pickup version nila but still hindi parin yun the same exactly... And even then the pickups where they were derived didn't score good enough at least for me lalo na yung Hi-lux. The Strada seems good for a truck pero yun na nga FOR A TRUCK, in general mababa parin score nya for me... Sakin 4 star ang minimum, 5 star is of course preferred maganda din kung merong mention of IIHS Top Pick... And of course maganda din if tested BOTH in the US and EUROPE... And scoring high on BOTH!

US NHTSA and IIHS meron ba? As I said I still prefer tests from BOTH EUROPE AND US... Australia (G20 country), pwede na din pero mas prefer ko parin ang Western Europe and US (G8)... But still if you are satisfied with that, good for you...

I noticed sa spec sheet ng Montero and Fort, ground clearance is 215mm, while Sta Fe ground clearance is 200mm, which is the same with the Xtrail. Sorento has a lower ground clearance of 185mm.

With this in mind, a 15mm difference in ground clearance is minimal when it comes to flooding. That's only 1.5 cm. In this case, for city flooding problems, the SUV (Fort, Monty) and CUV (Sta Fe, Xtrail) are almost head to head.

So yung pambaha portion kaya rin ng Korean CUV.

I'd go for comfortable ride with space capacity of the CUV. My wife, however, likes the added feeling of security of perceived ride height of an SUV (Monty). Since this is the case, my wife is the final say so we are getting the Monty.

Weird nga eh, Mas bagay sa kanya Sta Fe and sakin ang Monty, pero prefer ko Sta Fe siya naman Monty. Haha.

i'm wondering why more people buy ladder frame SUV at 1.7M at pahirapan ang sarili driving it daily only to prove to themselves that they are action stars.

ang tutoong action star can drive a 4x4 ladder frame suv without airbags, abs, and 21st century amenities. mas hanga ako dun

that's why I like the Jimny.

but not too many people will drive a jimny simply bec. it's crude. the irony hahaha

kung paastig ka, macho ka, then become man enough to drive a true ladder frame ... sa city . gusto ng masculine big SUV pero nagtatago din sa comforts sa loob

and P.s. we drive expensive crossovers bec. we want comfort and still have the advantage over sedans and auvs. mas tuso nga kami eh hehehe. mas tuso ako kasi paminsan-minsan i miss the robustness and ruggedness of ladder frame. that's why I like the Jimny, kung isasabak so baha less than 800k lang 'to noh. i really don't see any logic sa mga tao na gagastos ng 1.7M Montero/Fortuner sa pambaha. para ka bumili ng geox shoes at ginamit sa pambaha at hindi baha boots na nabibile sa ace hardware.

Sir, entry level ng Monty is only P1.3M. I was referring to the entry level of Sorento na P1.7M tapos babahain lang dahil nga mababa ang ground clearance. Diba di practical? yun ang action star na porma kasi geox ang presyo

Sir, di po ako action star eh, Im simply a practical entrepreneur and a Financial advisor. I hope your jimny comes with an oxygen tank or some sort of breathing aparatus, but then I cant blame you if you can only afford to buy a Jimny. its still a good vehicle though as it can bring you to your destination. Maybe it has a submarine feature.

3rd world - mga taong ginagamit ang ladder frame SUV sa city na average of 10-25KM a day radius lang para lang maka-feel na sobrang taas at safe at rugged sila

i drove a strada 4x4 for 9 years. kala nyo maging macho kayo. lalo pa kayo tataba kasi after mag-drive nyan, sigurado lamon sa bahay sa sobrang hirap magmaneho. never ending consumption of resources over a simple application of going to and fro sa work. never again. anyway, ma-realize nyo din yan 9 years from now

bibile dahil sa baha? there are only 3 months in a year sa rainy season, ang probability na magkaroon ng flash flood is about 20% ng 3 months na yun. and even if the flood is there, sira-ulo lang ang susugod sa baha kung walang alternative road. sugod mo sa baha yan, you lose 30% more of your ladder frame's SUV value, coz whether you like it or not, average 30% ang maging cost of replacement nyan na magsisimula lumabas year after year. so 30% of 1.7M , do the math

been there done that, and i'm glad i'm out of that thinking box.

Siguro ang maganda i reserve nalang natin yung mga offensive, deregatory terms at angas sa pitstop at sa politics thread kasi this is an automotive forum, people come here to gain knowledge on automobiles. Marami dito lurkers nagbabasa basa lang kumukuha ng info regarding cars na plano nila bilhin. Mga taong maglalabas ng malaking pera tapos makikita nila mga "terms" na hindi maganda, o kaya nabili na nila kumukuha ng info on maintenance tapos mababasa nila truck lang daw o kesyo pang 3rd world o gawang koreano lang yung pinaghirapan nila, samantala yung nagsasabi nun binibida niya lang yung binili niya. Pwede naman natin sabihin in a more subtle way kung yung isang brand ay hindi ok sayo.

Tsaka if I may add, hindi rin lahat ng tao dito may maraming sasakyan, kaya yung mga banat na ok lang etong brand nato kasi maganda ride, malupet aircon, maganda sounds etc. Tapos yung nagtatanong ang kailangan niya pang all around. Tapos sasagutin e ok lang kasi madami akong auto na pagpipilian,kung gusto ko pang offroad may ganito ako, kung gusto ko pamalengke may ganito ako, kaya ayos lang ako sa binibida ko...... ano yun?? anong gusto nun ipahiwatig sa forum nato?
