Actually I joined the FCP-MSCP Rivals United Funrun 2010, a joint funrun of Montero and Fortuner owners. We were all happy with our vehicles there were no rivalry really among us, kaya huwag natin pag-awayin ang dalawa. Sorry OT. Pero my vote for this is either of the two.
Tama ka sir, Good looking naman ang Fort (i didnt say that its not at all) pero outdated yung design since medyo matagal na ang modelo at nagfacelift lang, yun namang knobs ng Montero, aminin natin, parang Wash and Spin knob ng lumang Washing machine talaga eh. So maybe, if they can come up with newer designs for the next models, malamang magaganda yun since bago ulit. I'm sure it will take time though kasi hotcake parin bentahan ng MS so Im banking that Toyota will get ahead in changing/ upgrading their next Fort.

yan ang problema sa mga naka-Fortuner, i'm sure they dream of having the Montero one day and vice versa.

parang kaming mga naka-Korean cRDi, no we won't ever as in ever consider getting those tanks.

ang sa'min pag naka - Santa FE ka na, you dream of having a Sorento and vice versa
Sir, may konting problema parin tyo if we buy both Fort and monty, We would probably have a hard time deciding which one to drive daily unless salitan sila unlike iphone and Blackberry which you can both bring anywhere, anytime hahahaha but you are definitely spot on, on one thing, Ang angas ng dating ng Sorento, sayng lang at CUV sya, sana ginawang SUV narin

Actually, IIRC, the Sorento is like the Santa Fe. They both have 3 rows. The Sorento may not look to be as big as the MS or Fort, but that's only probably because it's physically shorter in terms of ride height. Have a look inside, it's pretty spacious.

Downside nga lang, is also product availability.

And, sigurado ako kaya ng Sorento mag mild-offroading.

Good point, kunsabagay, maski suv, parehong nadale sa Undoy.

I fully agree with you sir, downside also is the unreasonable pricing considering that Korean builders has just recently been surging in market penetration. I actually, love the drive and ride and even the sophisticated functions of the automation inside the Sorento. heck, it even won the People's choice awards this year (which was held by Montero sport for the previous years) but when we talk of practicality in functions to Road hazards, force majeur and most of all in selling price, we probably won't get the proper bang for our bucks. Just my opinion sir.

Right, sometimes useless din mga SUV during heavy downpour di ka rin makaalis barado kalsada kasi buhol buhol traffic

Tama Sir. pero in a situation na youre stuck in heavy traffic na potentially babahain til your waist line due to heavy rain downpour nga.... where would you rather be in and drifing?

CUV has better traction. Wala sa laki ng gulong yan..

    Based on personal experience.

Primary consideration between CUV and SUV is its use and driver preference/comfort. If you want an anti-Ondoy vehicle, the best option is a pumpboat.

No doubt about better traction, but point of laki gulong is clearance above ground and better chance of escaping flooded area than CUV.

Pumpboat is good if its included in this car comparison, I just hope you can drive your pumpboat even if theres no ondoy at all. Again, we all know that CUV such as Sorento has a better feel in driving because parang kotse ang kapit sa kalsada and the comfort of maneuverubility. SUV however, pwedeng imaneho sa kalsada or sa grabeng malulubak at pwedeng umeskapo sa matataas na baha. better chance of driving away from all those hazards kumbaga.

Actually mine is SUV its a fortuner, even my fort is able to cross the flood I still choose not to, wait to subside along with other sedans and CUV, dami sisirain like bearing, sensors, catalytic, etc.

But in situation that you have to cross or escape otherwise it will be more dangerous, SUV has the advantage over CUV.

Come to think of it. If Kia can come up with an SUV that is fairly comaparable to the built of the likes of any FORT or MONTY (reasonably priced) and vice versa, should Mitsubishi and Toyota can build an SUV that can offer sophistication and driving comforts that Sorento and other cool CUV possess, then I will be first in line to purchase one.

Salamat Sir, for stressing my point. tinuldukan nyong mabuti. Im just wondering if more people will still buy expensive CUV's katulad ng Sorento na Php 1.7Million tapos mamatay lang sa baha kapag naipit sa nabanggit ninyong situation.

    Hahaha

I will. Even the 2-Million peso variant of Sorento.
