Depends where you put it. If you put it on a straight line, yes. If you put it on a winding road and on the track, any properly driven 1600cc car (and even a 1300) will whip it or at least run next to it. The high rpm range for the power and torque of the B16 will be a bane to it under such conditions. I remember before, on the old Subic track during RWYB, my friend's automatic 2.0 Altima (with a low compression engine version at that) quickly caught up with the SiR that was flagged off ahead of him and was following him throughout the corners (the Civic would only pull ahead when they got to the straight way).

The reign of SIR was already finished!
It was more than a decade technology, now are more sofisticated with so many amazing features that SIR doesnt have.

My 2006 2.0 Civic FD would not beat my old 2000 SiR stock to stock (paglalaruan pa yan, lol). None of the cars I have now would beat the SiR straight up (800k-1.5m range). I sold it in 2005. That car was sad if you do not rev it to oblivion. LOL.
