I’m looking at second hand market for my next purchase and I really don’t know where to start.

Online ads? Second hand car dealers?

didn’t expect this process to really, really hard.

This will be the first time I’m buying pre owned vehicle.

Saan na kayo naghahanap ng mabibilhan?

Latest is Facebook Marketplace. Either that or Olx.

Bakit red flag pag agent ang nagbebenta, preferred lagi owner seller?

agents have only one objective: to make the most money from the sale.

private owners may have other reasons besides profit...
the new car is coming; i need garage space.
i need money for down payment or other financial requirement, not necessarily cars.
it's an old car; i want a new car.
my family has special needs now. i need another car.
basically, a private seller may be more amenable to discount than the bayan seller.
also, some private sellers might be more honest with the condition of the car.

When I sold my AE101, I made sure to fix all issues I'm aware of para walang "masabi" buyer sakin. That's an important value is our family, ayaw namin may "nasasabi" samin.

Because ... more often than not ... they WILL rollback the odometer ... Plus it's highly unlikely that you can really get a good deal from agents ... they are used to negotiating daily with hagglers ...

Buying direct from owner will give you a gauge as to how the car was driven and maintained ...

Agree on this ... few and far between ... but if you're patient enough ... one will pop out every now and then ... and if you spot one ... don't low ball the price ... there was this mint condition W211 E280 a few weeks ago ... less than 20T kms ...

Did you bite? That's a great find but I would prefer a pristine W124 any day.

No more pristine W124 ... there was this E500 a few years back ... selling for 1.5M ... that W211 got sold fast ...

Not just odo back-rolling, one can bet fixes are done cheap, half-arsed, sketchy just to pass the potential buyer's ocular & road test.

which brings us to another point.
in my opinion, most ordinary folks who want to buy used car, will fail the ocular and road tests.
we simply do not know enough, to be good apprisers of used cars.

Sa BF Homes, dami mga kotse na nakaparada sa labas ng bahay ng homeowners na binibenta. Yung iba, murang-mura yung asking price kasi pabitaw na. Usually yung common reason is wala na parking.

You have to physically the units though to make sure.
