I’m looking at second hand market for my next purchase and I really don’t know where to start.

Online ads? Second hand car dealers?

didn’t expect this process to really, really hard.

This will be the first time I’m buying pre owned vehicle.

Saan na kayo naghahanap ng mabibilhan?

Latest is Facebook Marketplace. Either that or Olx.

Mas Ok pa sa Facebook Market place kesa sa Olx.

Automatic na sir basta pag nag search ka ng sasakyan may marketplace na suggestion.

Tadtad ng bayan seller pag online ads.

What i do, i walk around our barangay and nearby brgys to see kung may for sale na naka paskil. Exercise pa.

Tanong tanong muna sa mga kamag-anak at kabigan. Baka may referral sila.

Then Facebook Marketplace. Wala na silbi sa akin ang olx when it comes to buying stuff.

Well, those already mentioned are the most current methods of trading pre-owned cars nowadays.

In an ideal situation however, it would be best to buy a 2nd hand car from a friend, or someone you know. Yun bang tipong mahihiya naman if may toyo pala yung binenta kasi magkikita at magkikita pa rin kayo (that is, if matino siyang tao).

Preferably someone na kasing alaga sa sasakyan tulad ng karamihan ng mga forum members dito, and the vehicle being sold is not a daily driver but an extra car just taking up space in the garage.

Unfortunately, we we don't live in an ideal world, and such circumstances are rare
After driving old cars for years though (because our folks believed we had to learn how hard it was to make money), those are the only conditions I'd ever consider buying a 2nd hand car.

My other 2 cents on the matter?

    • I'd rather see the vehicle being sold "as is", rather than "pimped up" so they can sell it for a higher price, and conceal defects (yun bang retoke na pambenta lang tapos lalabas na lahat ng bulok a few months down the road)
    • If the owner was female or nakalagay sa ad "lady driven"? - subtract 30% outright na from market value. I'm not being s*xist, but in my experience, many lady drivers have poor maintenance routines (basta tumatakbo lang, walang pakialam). And a lot of lady drivers can be just as reckless and an a-h*le as as most other drivers dito sa `Pinas.

    Again, just my 2 cents...

Tsikot.com is "the largest car forum in the Philippines" right?
