It was actually a lot better (1600 DOHC and 4 disc brakes) than the PH version of the Lancer it was based on (1600 SOHC and disc/drum). Part were swappable between them so if you see one of these with drum brakes at the back chances are its original parts are on a Lancer somewhere
Edit para di OT: learned to drive with that red car. Timing chain and used ATF even when it was an MT. Ignore my sister in the foreground.

August 16th, 2012 02:37 PM #40siguro on paper it was. but the build quality was really bad! the rubber/plastic molding near the windshield wipers would come off at speed. power locks and windows broke down after less than a year. road noise was really loud.
afaik it was also a SOHC 4G92 clone. not all parts were swappable (we changed the CV joints twice; the ones for the local lancer wouldn't fit). it did have a nice engine note when revved hard and handled pretty decently.
Puwede i try, 1. Palit air filter 2. Linis throttle body 3. Linis MAF sensor 4. Check spark...
