    It was actually a lot better (1600 DOHC and 4 disc brakes) than the PH version of the Lancer it was based on (1600 SOHC and disc/drum). Part were swappable between them so if you see one of these with drum brakes at the back chances are its original parts are on a Lancer somewhere

    Edit para di OT: learned to drive with that red car. Timing chain and used ATF even when it was an MT. Ignore my sister in the foreground.

    siguro on paper it was. but the build quality was really bad! the rubber/plastic molding near the windshield wipers would come off at speed. power locks and windows broke down after less than a year. road noise was really loud.

    afaik it was also a SOHC 4G92 clone. not all parts were swappable (we changed the CV joints twice; the ones for the local lancer wouldn't fit). it did have a nice engine note when revved hard and handled pretty decently.
