    Sir may tanong po ako... bibili kasi ako ng sasakayan 2nd hand... first time ko po bibili... kaso ako daw magpaparehistro ano ba dapat kong unang gawin bago bayaran ung sasakayan? gusto ko din humanap ng magassist sa pagrehistro at transfer of ownership...

    magkano kaya aabutin ng rehistro charade 2 dr 93 model registered 2008 pa...

    tsaka ano po ba dapat ko icheck sa sasakyan?

    Wow! Daihatsu Charade, pwede to gawing project car sir!

    Anyway, before nyo po bayaran yung car:

    1) Double-check its papers with LTO if tama ba yung nakalagay sa OR at CR (to avoid if it's a 'hot car' or 'stolen' or may bad police record).

    2) Check the car's history for accident (if there's any). Hmm.. since it's last registration was 2008, may fine na po yan (not sure if it's Php 1,500.00).

    3) Yung Deed of Sale, papa-notary public nyo po yun, this is needed for Transfer of Ownership. I-mamacro etching din yung car for this to see if it's the same chassis number with that of the CR.

    As for the Car itself:

    1) Test drive the unit. Pakiramdaman for any 'kalampag' or unnecessary noise aside from the engine.

    2) Check for any leaks: Radiator hoses, coolant reservoir, etc.

    3) When test driving, let the steering wheel be on a 'free-will'.. observe if papaling sa kaliwa or kanan. Kung ganun, you may need to do wheel alignment.

    4) Observe the Engine Idling upon starting, driving and if pag naka-on ang aircon at pag naka-off. If erratic ang idling, you may want to check on the history of the carburetor.

    5) Observe for other engine noise like squeaking sound: check the timing belt tension and compressor, baka need na palitan ng bearing. This may occur when starting the engine, while driving, or pagnaka-on ang aircon

    6) Check the brake fluids and oil level ng engine

    7) Air filter if ok pa or dusty na baka need na palitan

    8) Electrical wirings for any burn-out wires and check fuses as well

    9) Check brakes (mag accelerate ka then step on the brakes agad if kakagat, baka you may need to replace brake pads or shoe)

    10) Pakiramdaman ang clutch and if pumapasok agad ang gears pag nag-sshift ka. Dapat less gritty sound or wala ka dapat marinig na gritty sound ng gears otherwise baka may bungi na yung isa sa mga gears sa transmission box

    thanks sir abet... this helps me a lot... ill let you know if successful transaction... need pala i notary yung deed... kala ko aabutin ng 10k gastos sa rehistro eh tagalna kasi di nakarehistro... but i will check sa lto sir... maraming salamat ulit sir...

    Yes, need i-notarized ang deed of sale just like any public document, katibayan kasi yun na ikaw na ang may-ari ng nabili mong car. Yun bayad jan mura lang, pero depende sa mapuntahan mong notary public, yung iba nag-bbase sa total amount ng acquired vehicle den saka compute magkano ibabayad.

    Less than a thousand din po macro-etching, yung tira dun itabi mo narin for emission testing para sa rehistro.

    Then again, check the overall performance of the car's engine, wag mahiyang i-test drive at ask previous owner ano na history ng car Good Luck sir!

    yung deed of sale, wala ka nang problem doon, dapat yung owner nung charade ang magpapanotaryo noon.

    dahil sa registration, tawaran mo pa yung charade.

    ang masasabi ko sir, marami kang ipapaayos sigurado sa charade since old car na ito.

    why not get a Corolla small body or Lancer Itlog or Sentra LEC?

    sir nakita ko na ung sasakayan kaso wala ung bilog sa makina ano tawag dun? para saan ba yun sir? ung malaking bilog pagbukas ng hood...

    nagcheck ako parehistr sir eto breakdown nila...

    sir ben.. kung kaya lang talaga eh... kaso 60k fix lang talaga ang budget eh... first car din kasi... maraming salamat sir...

    tama si sir ben, mas maige kung sagot na ng seller yung pa-notaryo ng deed of sale para less hassle.

    hmm.. malaking bilog? baka you're referring to the air filter intake na nakapatong sa ibabaw ng carburetor? anyway, baka nagpalit ng aftermarket replacement parts yung owner ng car.

    for a budget of 60k and mag-ok ang deal, save up some extra cash for the replacements, like timing belt, oil filter, air filter, radiator coolant, change oil, brake fluid.. saka na yung aesthetics ng car

    opo si r abet un po ata un ung air filter... ayos lang ba wala un pansamantala? wala po bang kaso dun? madali po bang makahanap ng kapalit dun? ano po possible mangyari pagwala ung airfilter...?

    tinatawaran ko nga poh ng 50k eh... mukhang papayag namnan sir...

    Hanap mo agad ng replacement na air filter para hindi agad dumumi carburator mo dahil sa alikabok at malakas rin ito sa fuel consumption pag wala ito.

    +1 tama po si sir speed. Better find a replacement agad. And if you find one, bago mo ikabit, inspect physically yung carb, you may need to clean it with a carb cleaner na mabibili sa suking auto supply para naman medjo malinisan yung jets at valve ng carb.

    On the long run, check if you need to overhaul the carb kung medjo erratic yung idling ng makina even if na-adjust mo na to the desired rpm rating (rpm rating too if the aircon is on).

    Standard sir yung air filter sa mga sasakyan. Parang ganito yan, eto lang naman ang analogy ko for air filter and our nose and its cilla (little hair under our nose)

    Maraming pollutants in the air we breath, kung wala yung 'cilla' sa nose natin, we would then incur impurities papunta sa lungs natin and therefore causes breathing problems, which, our blood also needs filtered oxygen. Similar to that of a car, pag madumi ang mixture ng air then blended with the fuel, chances are, you'll shorten the life span of your engine. A good combination of air and fuel mixture is needed for a proper combustion

    Nose = Air Filter Intake
    Cilla = Air Filter (eto yung sa loob ng Air Intake Pipe/Tube)

    Hmm.. bakit kaya nawala or tinanggal ng owner yung air filter intake nya? probably magpapalit siguro ng performance tuning parts before.

    *TS - konting save up pa nang money, may makikita ka pang mas maganda siguro diyan. isipin mo, wala na yung air filter niya.

    tingin ko kahit 40k ibibigay niya sa iyo yung charade eh, obviously a problem car. but its your money ika nga, baka may makita ka pang iba.

    tawaran mo nang 40k yung charade.

    Sir ask ko lang poh magkano magpaoverhaul ng engine na charade 3 cylinder? palinis po ba ng makina...? overhaul tawag dun sir tama po ba? gusto ko kasi patune up... para maayos ung takbo at hatak... kasi grabeh magrebolusyon pag gas tinatapakan...

    I don't have any idea how much pa-overhaul ng engine ng charade sir. Yes, tama po kau, basically lilinisin yung engine at ibaba yun then piece by piece aalisin yung loob ng engine like yung piston at lilinisin.

    Paanong grabe magrebolusyon? I suggest if wala naman 'knocking sound' from the engine, stay away muna from overhaul, unless maging yung gagawa at pulido. You might want to spend on these muna for your tune-up:

    1) Change oil (consult owner's manual anong SAE ng need)
    2) Change oil filter
    3) Change spark plugs
    4) Change air filter

    Less than 1.5k magagastos mo jan if you do it yourself, or buy these then punta sa mekaniko, bayad mo nalang labor.

    Ah, meron pa pala, if you really plan to overhaul the engine, isabay narin overhaul ng carb para macheck yung condition ng jets if need na palitan saka yung butterfly valve kung wala bang excess na fuel ang lumalabas. Dito nasasayang ang gasolina kasi kahit close na yung valve kung meron naman 'leak' then nasusunog yung fuel na hindi pa naman umaandar ang car then causing erratic idling. Minsan ok yung idling, minsan sobra sa rated rpm ang rev kahit naadjust na yung idling.

    maraming salamat sir sa advice... nagtanong ako sa mekaniko ng tito ko sir... 4,ooo daw overhaul mura na ba un.... mekaniko na kasi ng tito ko un eh...

    pagbukas engine okei naman sya sir... tapos pagbinuksan ung aircon maxadong maalog na... pagumaandar naman hirap bumatak sir parang hirap na hirap umandar.... tapos ung brake nya dalawang bomba... tapos biglang kagat sobrang break...

    ano po kau masusugest nyo sir? tama po bang ipaoverhaul ko? para sure okei na lahat?

    go for it na sir! trusted mechanic naman pala

    may hangin yang brakes mo sir kaya dalawang bomba pa need para kumagat yung brakes. palit ka pati brake fulid and check if meron tagas. Idamay mo narin yung hand brakes mo baka papalitan narin yung cable nyan. Hmm.. pacheck mo narin lahat, from the brake pads to your brake rotors, palinis if necessary

    check mo narin if ok pa alternator nyan (kung nagccharge pa ng mabuti), isama mo narin yung electicals checkup nyan after ng mechanicals ng car sir

    post ka sir ng pix ng charade sir after ma-restore! hehehe
