Not considering the new Carnival? At 1.575M for the 11 seater version, it's a steal... 3rd rows of 7 seater SUVs are generally tight and leave very little remaining cargo space. If you regularly use the 3rd row, this is the way to go.

I agree with this. It should be part of your short list.

Hm? Is something up with Everest or is it a matter of one being the top of the line versus mid-level?

Last I checked a Kia Grand Carnival is at 2.2M... I must be missing something.

Update: Saw a few Everest Titanium and I gotta say they look muy gwapo. Kaso the misis and I are leaning towards cutting the budget to a 2nd hand Fortuner (which is fine since 10 years old na ang lumang gen) for reasons of price and getting top of the line na din. Pero we'll look again after 6 months, di minamadali mga ganitong desisyon lol.

There is a new carnival model at p1.575m. But for slightly less you could get an Everest Trend which is decently specced and has no waiting list. Id wait until the release of the montero and fortuner as that will potentially cause big discounts at ford.

The Everest Titanium is a looker but its 20in tires will be costly to replace.

Actually looking at the Trend. Has everything the Titanum has save for stuff like chrome accents, ambient lighting and other non-essential stuff (for me).

Medyo late but could you clarify why the Mu-x over the Everest?

Necro time! Visiting some showrooms and the new shortlist:

    1. Toyota Innova E 2.8AT
    2. Ford Everest Trend
    3. Honda Mobilio

Still thinking about the Carens and MU-X (just not feeling it).

Drive test are scheduled save for the Innova and baka end of the year Bili. Maganda ba discounts sa pasko?

Everest pa lang. Surprisingly light steering. Ride quality is like my City. considering it was a first time driving diesel, maganda naman response pero need to get used to the power...

Parang maikli lang yung session and i was to focused on avoiding accidents na di ko masyado na pagmasdan yung dash or butingtingin yung head unit. Baka next week meron na daw Innova.

    A. Diesel (unless you can make a case for a gas SUV/MPV)
    B. Good aircon
    C. Budget of 1.5M or 25k to 30k per month for 5 years
    D. Mostly city driving so dapat enjoy i-drive kahit traffic
    E. decent space for people and stuff.
    F. Matic

    Here's a shortlist so far:
    wow good lol jswea calldsfgasgsadf
    1. Volkswagen Touran
+ Euro (mababaw na reason, but I've always wanted a European car)
    + Enticing safety features.
    + Cruise control!
    - A little above budget yung TDI variant
    - Wife thinks mainit sa mata even though mundane ang design
    - Baka taga sa maintenance at mahirap maghanap ng mechanic for it after warranty.
+/- No idea what manual aircon means

    2. Isuzu mu-X
+/- Popular so madaming kapareho pero ibig sabihin baka maganda demand ng parts at mechanics
+ Wife really loves the look
    +/- Push start
    + Nice entertainment system
    - less safety features (relatively speaking)

    3. Kia Carens
+ Some say it's better than the Touran, no idea
    - least features of the 3
+/- again, what does manuel aircon?

    4. Any other suggestion na hindi Innova / Avanza - no offense sa 2, pero I feel lazy just picking those two. Bang for the buck I know, pero if I can afford a little more to get something slightly unique or better why not diba? At least at the end of the day, kung wala talaga Innova na. As for Ford or Chevy, medyo same issues with VW and I've heard (alam mo naman tayong mga pinoy with hearsay) na may issues daw sa quality mga American cars. Pero I'm open naman to it, if my fears can be eased or something to that extent.

Yun lang po, sana pa makakuha kahit konting tulong at wisdom. Thank you all!

Of the three, yung Trend may pinaka maraming safety features if yun ang priority niyo, but if more on family use, mas flexible and spacious Innova. Btw Innova V has stability assist if I'm not mistaken plus captain seats sa 2nd row. I don't really like Everest's 2nd row mechanism. Almost sprained my right foot nung tinry ko bumaba from 3rd row :/

Ang mu-X kasi IMO has the best combination of safety and convenience features for under 1.4M, pero I think yung 2016 models (new colored information display + added cruise control) 1.42M na which comes near the 2.2 Trend's price. Plus the engines used have been in production for almost a decade I think? Dumadaan lang sa upgrades and revisions. Another plus for proven and reliable engine + parts availability.

The way I see it kasi, the Eve is my 1st target... The Innova is the consolation price kundi kayanin ng budget whole the mobilio is pretty much the worst case scenario.

In case hindi pa kayo nakabili sir, to be honest the MUX or any other SUV's in the market does not give justice to the third row seats. Accessibility is such a hassle. I fyou really want comfort, I suggest you go with a VAN. It can accommodate more people. yun naming volks, problem for that is the availability of spare parts. Since you mentioned "Future proof" might as well consider the maintenance part of it.

My dad keeps insisting on buying a 7-seater SUV but all of them are really expensive and I keep telling him this. lol. Gusto ko naman kasi crossovers lang para mura (slightly) at mataas pa rin in case magkaroon ng floods. We only have 5 people at max when the cars are filled anyway so seating wouldn't be a problem at all.

Which brings me to this question: What are some good Crossovers out there? Budget would be around 1.4m below or 28k below monthly (5 years)

    SUV.CUV. Crossover. AUV. MPV.
    are there real differences here?
or, are they defined so as to make it appear that one is "superior" over the other?
what does one have, that the other does not have?
    this has always confused me.

In case the choice goes down to the Innova, the Innova V interior is actually very roomy. Pilot seats for the middle row makes for a real comfortable ride (for the passengers).
