April 23rd, 2011 04:37 PM #2I'm no expert, but based on what I've seen in cars na na-Ondoy, as well as on the owners' account - mataas ang chance na magkaroon ng rust under the carpets and sa mga wiring mismo. Though sa ngayon any rust problems would have surfaced already, or it's been repaired na. Kudos for the owner's honesty though. If you're really prepared to buy it, bargain for a much lower price. My neighbour sold his Ondoyed-mini for much less than that.

Flood related problems can happen years after the original flooding like wires corroded from the inside when is water trapped inside the insulation.
The Mazda3 car itself is an "okay" car but it is a fuel guzzler, especially the 1.6L version which is underpowered in my opinion.
The general opinion for most people is to steer away from flood damaged cars even if they look and drive okay. The problems these days for "Ondoy" cars will always be electrical/electronic gremlins. That may include the engine ecu, the abs brakes controller, engine sensors, radio, gauge cluster, electronic A/T controller, aircon system, airbag computer, general electrical wiring, etc. If your sibling is willing to sell you the car for a substantial discount, I hope you are willing to shoulder the potential of an expensive replacement part in the future.

April 23rd, 2011 08:26 PM #4i would steer away from flooded vehicles. especially if i knew very little about cars. it's a potential money pit.
and 500K for a flooded mazda3 ?!! bossing naman! a quick look at the ads, will tell you it's overpriced even if it were not flooded.. my 86 centavos' worth..Last edited by dr. d; April 23rd, 2011 at 08:57 PM.

Hahahah. 500k ? Sige bilhin niyo yan at masabihan kayo ng ... ( insert insult here )
A Mazda 3 2.0R that's not flooded costs 450k ! And that's still with money back guarantee ! Kahit na 2006 model pa siya, it will, eventually be better than your flooded 08 unit.
Only stupid people will buy a flooded unit for 500k imo.

April 24th, 2011 06:33 PM #6IMHO steer clear ka na diyan. Na-Ondoy na eh, and as mentioned, the 3 is quite a guzzler and is underpowered in 1.6L guise. For your money I suggest you get an FD Civic instead.
Here's one, its negotiable and has even lesser mileage!

Kung walang spare tire, invest on a Inflator kaysa sa sealant. Inflate the flat tire +10 psi than...
Liquid tire sealant
