If there's another lunatic aside from the one who spread the word that an Accent got 56 kms to a liter, its the one who turns off the engine while driving downhill.

Yes, downhill *80-100kph speed, matipid talaga kahit Montero ng kaibigan ko nag register 30.xx km/L consumption based sa onboard monitor.

Sad to say though that coasting downhill is not something you can experience with Metro Manila traffic. The old Focus TDCi can do 12-15 km/L on city driving conditions and 18-21 km/L on the highway. The Accent CRDi may not be far off or do even better than that.

My version of Deakins eco run is 29.5 km/L highway drive at 80-100 km/HR, 19.5 urban shifts 1-4 gears. No figures for traffic condition.

Kahit yata motorcycle 45km/l lang ang kaya.

Anyway, the accent diesel could still give you the best FC. Exaggerated lang yang 56.

The Mitsubishi Mirage seems to be living up to its 21 kpl claim.

Seriously guys, people have been asking some pretty silly questions lately. We're glad to help out but it would really help if people do a little bit of research first.

There's even one in the Toyota Corolla thread talking about how to use the aircon.

HA HA HA!!! This made me LOL :bwahaha:

That's misleading advertising. Sadly, there are people that would believe it and would be sorely disappointed.

Pretty much my observation. 30 km/l at around 80-90... 35 km/l at 70-80... and yes, you have to coast downhill.

By the way... I loved the sedan, despite the lack of amenities.

To get 40 km/l, you will need to do a very precise pulse-and-glide with the engine off on the highway... accelerate up to 90, turn off... cruise down to around 50, bump start in 6th gear, then go on.

The ONLY way to get 56 is the coast downhill (no need to turn the engine off. I've done over 30 km/l on a CR-V going downhill.

That's why my fuel economy testing is done two way. To eliminate the effects of slope. Even on a gentle slope, you can use engine-off coasting to get nearly infinite fuel economy.

i still prefer the old school kia cd5 as the best hatchback. with its b1 engine, even with its jurassic carb, it can still hit 18 km/l.. downside, hindi pwede sa mga maselang tao. but if your goal is an efficient and practical car which will bring you from point a to point b, then this is the car you want. maintenance wise, napakadaling ayusin sa murang presyo ng pyesa. my 2 sons are using this in going to school. ito yong tipid mode na hatch back. but for medyo classy hatchback, id rather go for honda jazz.

What's your take eto po pinagpipilian ko na swak sa budget. Wigo trd version (top of the line), swift 1.2 AT, mirage gls mt. Yan lang pasok sa budget.

City driving, i have one slim 8 year old daughter one 3yr old boy and a ***y wife.

Some out of town ventures from time to time...

Parang ang ganda kasi ng offering ng trd at 608k. Malaki ba difference ng 1.0 vs 1.2? Although parang ang ganda ni swift at parang mas balanse at maganda FC ni mirage. Haaay. Please help.

Mirage or Swift for me. Pacute lang yang Wigo TRD. Toyota Racing Division for its cheapest car? Funny.

The Mirage is the better all-rounder with better FC, more space, and more features.

The Swift looks better and drives much nicer. But masikip talaga.

^ Agree with everything sir jut said. I'm very happy with my Swift, but I bought it for personal use and I don't think it's the best ride for a family. Not the best legroom in the backseat. Mabibilang sa isang kamay kung ilang beses pa lang ako nagpapasakay sa likod haha
