Have to go with the Accent, because of its diesel engine.

That's impossible to achieve pretty much... Even in an eco run I doubt that can be achieve much less in the city!

For a budget of 600k or less, I'd go with the Mirage. Increase the budget further and you have a few more options.

I was never a fan of sub-compacts or even smaller cars until I test drove the Fiesta Ecoboost. A Fiesta ST Ecoboost could even be a lot better.

Yes, downhill from Baguio ... with the engine off.

Seriously guys, people have been asking some pretty silly questions lately. We're glad to help out but it would really help if people do a little bit of research first.

There's even one in the Toyota Corolla thread talking about how to use the aircon.

I own one and I'll say that's not possible. The highest I got based on the car's computer is 35.xxkm/L. That's purely highway driving, coasting on downhills and 60-80kph speed. Ngayon di ko na magawa, sayang yun power ng makina e.

Yes, downhill *80-100kph speed, matipid talaga kahit Montero ng kaibigan ko nag register 30.xx km/L consumption based sa onboard monitor.

Pretty much my observation. 30 km/l at around 80-90... 35 km/l at 70-80... and yes, you have to coast downhill.

By the way... I loved the sedan, despite the lack of amenities.

To get 40 km/l, you will need to do a very precise pulse-and-glide with the engine off on the highway... accelerate up to 90, turn off... cruise down to around 50, bump start in 6th gear, then go on.

The ONLY way to get 56 is the coast downhill (no need to turn the engine off. I've done over 30 km/l on a CR-V going downhill.

That's why my fuel economy testing is done two way. To eliminate the effects of slope. Even on a gentle slope, you can use engine-off coasting to get nearly infinite fuel economy.

Check out Hyundai PH website. It's the banner --> 56.47 km/L. There's a catch though (in small fonts); best consumption rate. However, I think it's just pure marketing mumbo-jumbo as you only get 20%-30% of that figure in Metro Manila traffic conditions.
