April 26th, 2009 11:01 PM #1I have so many factors to consider so please help me out here. This is going to be my first car. Here are the factors:
1. I can only afford a downpayment of P350,000 and around P10,000 monthly ammortization.
2. I'll be driving daily from Dasma Cavite to Vito Cruz with my wife. I had one daughter (4 months) and two helpers. Seldom around twice a year lang na makakadalaw mother ko or sister ko from province so basically max of 5 lang kami gagamit ng sasakyan, unless magkababy na naman kami ulit, growing family, that's why the question AUV/SUV ba o kotse muna. Then benta na lang after 5 years kung magkakapera na. Good company I am working though so secure na, no way but up.
3. I want a good FC like around 10km/liter.
4. If I can afford it, I'd prefer it be automatic (it's going to be my first time to drive an automatic car, traffic kasi pauwi Cavite)
5. I want a good airconditioning system. May bata eh, sanay sa aircon.
6. At least not low end type of car, it's my first, I don't want to regret buying my first time.
7. Consider resale after 5 years.
8. Not much problem during repairs/maintenance (parts, mechanic, etc.)
9. Is color an issue? Should I avoid one? What and why?
10. Diesel or gas?
The problem is, I am stucked if I wanna buy Innova, Vios, City, Civic, Grand Livina, Chev or any other brand/type as long as I can afford it. I can give up automatic if I can't really afford it yet. So SUV or car na lang? Automatic or manual lang muna?

April 26th, 2009 11:57 PM #2How about a Toyota Avanza? The 1.3J has really good FC and can be very handy since may baby ka, I'm also a father of a 6 month old baby girl and sometimes hirap kami pag kotse lang ang gamit, babies tend to need a lot of stuff so at least may extra space ka if you have an AUV.

Kung talagang magiging practical ka sa FC and hindi sa looks ng sasakyan and resale value. Go for avanza. Alternative is the Suzuki APV type II.
Yung Grand Livina masikip sa third row, and walang AC vents sa middle. Kaya Im not sure kung kayang palamigin nya hanggang third row.
By the way sir, dont you wanna try looking for a second hand Starex, yung pang down na 350K kasyang kasya.

If resale is an issue, the best cars on that short-list are the Innova and the Honda City.
If you're going for a car, there's very little reason not to get a Honda City. Good engine, terrific space. Much better interior quality and build than the Vios or the Avanza.
The Avanza, if it's 1.3, is a decent choice, but if you're from Cavite, you might find the climbing "oomph" a bit lacking if it's fully loaded (lacking meaning it's slow climbing, not that it can't do it... my brother-in-law uses one for hauling workers up to his construction site). But if you're going with the 1.5, might as well go Innova, as it's a better car (though the Avanza 1.5 has a more flexible third row seat and is peppier to drive).
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Make up your inkling first if ano sa puso mo, if you just wanna please your relatives mo para may masakyan sila pag nasa bahay nyo, i dont think its a valid reason Bigyan mo na lang pang taxi hehe.
We do have same situation 7 years ago . I prefer kung san ako magiging masaya habang dinadrive mo yung sasakyan.

Any disappointments? I might buy a nearly broken one.
