Sayang lang gastos for the converter, P450 din tapos destorted sound, before buying your amps or speakers, consider upgrading your HU first. Just my opinion
Kung basic upgrade lang you dont need to spend too much na. Pwede na yang stock HU mo. As what Zero3 said bili ka LOC(line output converter). Or bili ka amp that could accept high level inputs or amps that has internal LOC like the pioneer GM series class D amps.
Hindi sayang ang gastos sa LOC. actually that is the wise route kung basic upgrade lang hanap mo. No need to spend so much on buying a new HU. Ganyan ginawa ko dahil ang HU ko ay di basta basta palitan dahil maraming controls and features ng sasakyan ay integrated sa HU. Also magiging distorted lang ang sound ng speakers if you push your drivers to hard to a point of extreme na ang excursion. Kahit palitan mo HU ng mamahalin magiging distorted pa rin tunog nyan yan pag sobra sobra yung volume. Tune/level match your amp properly.
To me, last resort ang LOC. I'm no audiophile but I do appreciate good clarity and detail.
But it is your car. However, do note that not all LOCs are equal. There are quality LCOs (active) and there are crap ones. The cheaper ones can add 'color' to your music and you end up losing some details and/or gaining distortion and noise. But if you have to spend for a quality LOC, might as well change the HU instead. Though subjective, many decent aftermarket HUs aren't at all expensive.
The only reason you'd want to keep the OEM HU is when it is fully and deeply integrated with the car (ie. Part of the info-center screen). On the Innova, it is still modular and you only lose the steering controls, at worst.

I'm no audiophile and an expert either, I just love a good music and do my own installs. People sometimes tend to forget when giving advice about audio gears if kaya ba ng budget nung nag tatanong ang suggestions nila. Parang you are shooting them down na kahit basic upgrade lang hanap nila. As what the experts have said, sa car audio it will always be subjective kung ano maganda. For some even just changing the front seps using the stock HU is ok na but for others they cant appreciate anything less than gears with dsp on 3way active setup. Problem din is yung TS di nag indicate ng budget.
I don't think so. Who are we to judge the TS' capacity to spend or his perception of good sound quality? I think it's only fair to lay down everything on the table, within reason, and leave it up to the TS to decide which option to take.
I agree but asking a persons budget doesnt mean you are belittling the guys financial capacity lalo na if wala siya background about sa ICE. If you dump everything on his face when the guy just wants a basic upgrade he might think na wala na pagasa gumanda ang listening experience nya unless he spends more money. Any expert audiophiles kahit sa pdvd pag may newbie nag ask they will always reply with a question like, how big is the area? glass ba wall mo or may curtains ba? gaano ka taas ang ceiling? what type of music do you listen? how much budget are you willing to spend? They will not say immediately na you have to buy the b&w nautilus speakers dahil eto yung speaker na kahit saan mo ilagay na part ng bahay mo ay walang coloration ang sound nito.
Yes we have to lay it down but maybe the guy also needs some workaround on his budget. If the guy wants to get signal from his HU just tell him yes it can be done and it is possible, but if he wants more control then tell him upgrading his HU is another way. And upgrading one's HU doesnt mean he is free of noise, static etc. He has to spend again for good wires and rca. But this is just me and my 2 cents.
