hey guys...hmm balak ko sanang palitan ang HU ko na kenwood (sobrang luma na) to a new one..and ive seen so many kinds here..well i think most of you guys recommend pioneer HU's..ask ko lang kasi yung antenna ko is windshield munted (sabi ko sa inyo luma na eh) how do i change it ito to a roof-mounted one? like yung sa mga CRV's and Vios'? kasama na ba yung antenna sa HU or is that a separate purchase from the HU?

zechs: Separate ang antenna. If roof mounted ka, you'll need to make a hole sa roof mo to pass the wire through. An antenna kit should have everything you need to do the job, but making sure that the newly bored hole should not rust or leak is more important. If I were you, just buy the new HU and use the existing antenna since most new HUs tuners are much more powerful than older ones, you may not need a new antenna.

ah ok..well the reason that i wanted to get a roof mounted antenna is that i cant install a new tint visor sa front windshield ko kasi the antenna is mounted there.. na-una ininstall yung tint then yung antenna..and i have yet to find a store that is competent and capable enough to install a new visor without damaging the antenna...hirap maghanap eh...talong na kasi yung kulay ng visor ngayon...oh and by the way, how much does a HU costs? medyo matataas kasi yung mga price posted here for an MP3-capable HU..how about for a non-MP3-capable one? how much will that costs? any idea? thanks

Ang equivalent ng 8650 sa states is yung Premier 860 mas mura pag diyan ka bumili. Dito nasa 25k ang kuha ko e.

I see pag pala me insert na 5 sa second digit e premier series na. Tnx again PK. btw, canvas dyan kanina friend ko kay Carluck, 23thou+ na lang yata yung 8650. lowest dito is S350plus S/H.

I was being sold a Pioneer FH P5000 MP, but is was too expensive. I think it was P35,000+.

Are there any other models available? I prefer Pioneer or Alpine.

ung 8650 ok sana. kaso out na sa budget ko, kaya 7550 kinuha ko.buti na lang may nakuhaan pa ko ng stock

Litong lito na ko sa dami ng choices. But I have norrowed down my choices to either a Pioneer or Alpine HU.

After calling some auto shops, I got two units within the P10T to P15T range. These are:

Pioneer DEH 5650
Alpine CDA 9827

Both offer what I need - CD / MP3 / WMA playback.

I think the Alpine has (3) 4-volt pre-outs as opposed to Pioneer's (2) standard pre-outs. Initially, I won't be using an external power amp, but who knows, in this hobby, upgrading is normal....

Which is better in terms of:

SQ
Reliability / Durability
Features / Functions
Service Center

Do you have any other suggestions?

based on the specs, i'd go for the alpine unit.
merge ko lang po ito sa existing mp3 thread natin boss.
