I installed Xiaomi Yi Smart Dash Camera. Clear ang video Day & Night. P3,300 for English International Version. Don't buy the China model because it's difficult to update. Can compete with high value dash cam like Transcend.

    Hi, everyone!

I'm new to dash cams; just thought of getting one. I'd be grateful if you could answer my question: Do all dash cams continue to record even if cars are turned off?

    Thanks in advance

Dash cams don't usually record if the car is off (and thus no power), but you can set up your wiring to have power fed continually to your dashcam to have 24/7 recording.

Just be mindful of the heat which could prematurely kill your dash cam, and make sure your installation is done very well in order to avoid any electrical mishaps.

    Thanks, jut! Very helpful!

I'll pursue that 24/7 recording. Time to look for experienced installers

Hi. Please help me out. Should I get the VIOFO A119 or the DDpai Mini 2 for my first dash cam? Is it reasonable to spend a bit more for the Mini2 or are the specs of the A119 good enough?

    Thank you!

Better to get power from a powerbank for your dashcam and hardwire the powerbank to charge when the vehicle is running ... maybe there are dashcams with built-in battery ...

Got mine at Lazada for 2.6k with Chinese manual also, but easy to operate. Can't wait to test it out!

    How is it?

I'm looking for an alternative to the Transcend Drive Pro 200. Just too pricey for me at 6k+. Looking for something similar priced at 3-4k.

Read from reviews that the Yi has focus issues when exposed to high temps... Anyone experience this?

I have a chinese noname brand bought 3 years ago for the mux. So far so good but naka black tint ako.

I got the Yi for 2.6k sa lazada for my other truck and wala pa din problem.

I also got an hp f870g from US pero hindi pa dumating. I like it for its dual channel recording so I wont have to buy a separate reverse camera. Price in US is around P7.5k. Here it is 12.5k lol
