March 3rd, 2014 12:57 AM #2Check the impedance and power capacity of the speakers. If they match then you're good to go.

And how did you measure it?
At ano meaning mo speaker with subwoofer ng JVC component system? I hope these are just the speakers themselves not the speaker cabinet and all.
In any case, just pluck out the speakers and use it for your system. Pwede ba? Yes. Component system drivers usually present a lighter load than car drivers anyway. But pay attention to passive crossovers that might be included in the tweeter and midbass drivers.

^ Just as I've thought, you really are referring to speakers of Home Theater Systems (HTS).
And how do you intend to place it in your car? Balak mo bang kalasin 'yung mga speakers
then place it on a fabricated enclosure inside the car? Or place in the car as is?
Ang alam ko sir TS, maganda ang tunog niyang mga "component speakers" because
of the enclosures. At saka 'pag binuksan mo 'yan, may mga electronic parts sa loob
like resistors, capacitors or something. Hindi ko lang alam kung ano tawag sa mga
small parts na 'yon. Yung iba nga may mga parang "bulak" lining pa sa loob.
Ang advise sa akin ng mga shops / ka- tropa, keep na lang the HTS speakers (use them somewhere else),
then bumili na lang ng mga amplifiers, subwoofers, speakers, etc. na para talaga sa mga sasakyan.
Magpagawa na lang ng enclosure that will bring out the best performance of you speakers
and at the same time, add a "dashing" look to your car.
ps
pag may time ka, try visiting this thread

you'll see alot of sir jhnkvn's very valuable post / advises.

siyempre, mas gumanda na ang tunog. simple and satisfying...Last edited by joemarski; March 3rd, 2014 at 02:19 PM.

March 3rd, 2014 02:13 PM #10Maybe TS just wanna avert the cost of upgrading thats why he's trying to make use of component speakers that might be sitting around the house. If form is no issue then hes a free man to mount the speaker box anywhere in the vehicle.
TS. Check the output impedance of your headunit/ amplifier usually range says 4 to 8ohms, n watts..If your component speakers falls in that range then it could be done, just use some goodspeaker wires. Dont mind the electronics inside, as long as input impedance meets your requirement then its good to go.The electronics inside speakers is just a crossover network hi-mid-low pass filters to direct w/c frequency goes to what speaker(woofer, midrange, tweeter).
