next will be the 4 doors doors deadened... and last nalang yung head unit...

sounds a good plan. ok naman na mga stock hu nowadays, what matters ay connectivity especially sa music streamers at mga navigation apps. i tnink you are leaning more sa SPL category kaya subwoofer agad ang target mo.

    sounds like a good plan.

out of curiosity ilan watts per channel ba usually ang stock HU ngayon? kung 40-45watts per channel ok na siguro for 4 stock speakers

iirc, nasa 50W x 4ch usually ang mga headunits. kaya naman i drive kahit mga aftermarket speakers at good listening volume levels.

Interesting that most of the recommendations for entry level setups focus on upgrading HU and speakers instead of adding a sub and amp.

When I upgraded the CRV's audio system, I kept the head unit (lots of features integrated into it) and then added an amp, front/rear seps, front tweeters, and an underseat sub.

Among all of these, it was actually the amp and sub that improved the quality the most. With the sub off, the music lacks depth. Without the amp's DSP, the soundstage is vastly different.

Thinking of upgrading the Civic's sound system also but not sure where to start and what's truly necessary.

sub kasi compliments the mids and highs
maski sa home theater and, iba parin effect kahit not so expensive speakers pero maganda integration ng subs malaki tulong
only difference i noticed, mas madali ayusin ang room acoustics vs car

So why then is the reco always to start with seps instead of sub?

    *jut
tama rin sinabi mo re: turning off the sub, tapos pangit na tunog
possible reason nito, naka tune na yung speakers mo noon not to play below 80hz +/-

Hindi naman nababago soundstage kung seps lang diba? Yun yung pinakamalaking improvement na napansin ko when I upgraded the CRV's audio, naging gitna ang soundstage. Tapos add the deep bass from the sub naging mas buo talaga.

So pag road trip mas gusto ko dala CRV even if less power than the Civic just because of the audio. Kaya iniisip ko upgrade audio ng Civic also para enjoyable drive din.

    medyo OT:

do you have a prefence for a particular underseat sub?

over the years I have used quite a few. pioneer, blaupunkt, kenwood, even NBN. some are better than the others. some fit under the front seats some do not.

ive been looking at infinity basslink i think identical sya sa jbl basspro. medyo pricey lang at 11800.

    thanks

kung seps (2 way-3way)malaki difference nun bro vs stock lalo
if installed/angled properly malaki bagay na yun. madami nga speakers lang maski coax, very satisfied na.
personally kasi, i prefer sabay subs and seps kahit later na HU

btw personal ko na experience dun sa installer/tuner taga dito sa pasig. sub lang and stock speakers, ganda ng tono. nga lang yun HU nya 1 din, i dont know if hi end or not. baka kasi dahil sa HU

The head unit is the source while the separates provide the sound for both top and mid range frequencies (which is usually the audible sound). When you add a subwoofer, you can include the low frequencies. If you have a dedicated amplifier, you can set the frequency cutoffs among the speakers in your system.

If you ask me for suggestions on car audio equipment (speakers and amplifiers), my suggestion would be DLS, Focal, Morel, or Audison. Even the their affordable models are quite good.
