June 21st, 2017 11:06 AM #2411Good day po.
Ask ko lang if meron dito gumagawa dito ng lalagyanan ng tweeter, yung sa cover sa likod ng side mirror. Balak ko sana maglagay ng tweeters pero walang provision for tweeters yung kotse ko.
Thanks.

June 21st, 2017 12:41 PM #2412Mga pre,
May nag set-up naba sa inyo sa Starex? I plan to setup an audio-video/videoke sa starex 2012 namin.
Questions:
1) Kasya ba yung Helix G5 amp under the 1st row passenger seat? (i think hindi kasya sa drivers seat)
2) Kasya ba yung magic sing base unit (diamond) sa ilalim ng driver's seat?
3) Anyone knows any good overhead monitor 15" ?
4) Kaya na ba ng JL 10" subs (sealed) yung starex? (more for video / videoke / TV plus naman yung setup) or should I just go with the 12"
5) If I have the roof deadened, malaki ba tulong neto sa heat rejection?
Planned setup:
Head Unit : Pioneer avh-x8850
Speakers1-front : Focal ES165K (or PS165F kung more for video/videoke/TV plus lang naman)
Speakers2-rear : Focal 165AC (for videoke/TV)
Amplifier : Helix G4 or G5
Subwoofer : JL 12W3v3 (4 ohms) or maybe JL 10w3v3
TV Plus
Magicsing - Diamond
Overhead Monitor - ?
Headrest Monitor : Nakamichi x 2 sets
Deadening
Thanks mga pre.

1. Actually, most car speakers don't have reviews in that matter din. Di uso as the car environment itself is the biggest variable in the sound equation. Slapping Speaker A in a Starex and a Picanto will yield different results so to speak.
2. If you haven't completed the sound spectrum yet, it would be wise to reduce the speaker budget to give way to a subwoofer budget.
3. Ground Zero is a rather peculiar speaker brand. They're so-so in their marketing but they became famous due to their amplifiers first as they're one of the more well-known brands that shifted their production to China/Korea/Taiwan early on and a lot of China made ones mimic their design (and vice versa tbh).
4. Picking speakers is like picking watches, brand preference reigns supreme in many consumer thoughts.
5. For the more well-known ones, there's Morel and Focal. These two companies are famous even in the home audio industry. Then there's the giant Harman Industries with JBL and Infinity. You also see basic models of Italy's elettromedia's Hertz and Audison here. You can also go for lesser known ones: Audible Physics and Dominations of Indonesia, Flux of Singapore, and Rainbow of Germany. Or you can look at their US counterparts such as Polk Audio and Rockford Fosgate (they're known as an amp manufacturer over a speaker one mind you) while Japan has Sony and Pioneer.
- go with what your installer is comfortable with
- go with what you prefer
- just install it
- I am a biased with JBL, they make great no-fuss gears with a ton of engineering behind them at affordable prices.
- Don't look down on Pioneer, they also own high-end TAD Laboratories which sells home speakers costing $80,000 upwardsLast edited by jhnkvn; June 22nd, 2017 at 12:56 PM.

June 22nd, 2017 02:05 PM #2417Actually, di naman ako bass lover so sub is not priority. Even amplifier is not priority now. Di naman ako todo magpatugtog sa loob ng car as I want to be alert on other cars surrounding me. Just want a decent speaker which can be easily recommended by more experienced users.
Focal talaga sinesearch ko before but budget might not be enough. Since nagbasa din ako dito ng recommended installers around QC, I checked jetcar kaya nalaman ko Ground Zero. But there are two of you who recommended Morel to me so just need to check sino dealers around QC that can install like a pro. Though I checked JC car audio kahit San Juan sila pero nahihiya ako magtanong as I'm a noob sa car audio. Hehe

June 22nd, 2017 03:10 PM #2418If you just want to have an idea on speaker prices, you might want to check Mickeys website so you can narrow down your choices based on your budget. From there, do research and audition. Lastly, wag ka mahiya bro to ask/ consult installers. I am sure they are more than willing to assist you. Thanks

June 23rd, 2017 01:13 AM #2420Pa advise lang guys: Will go to Mickey's this Saturday to swap the stock stereo on my 2016 Kia Carnival with these:
1. New 2-DIN HU (maybe the Pioneer AVH X8850BT because of Car Play)
2. New 2 way separates (thinking of the Focal P165FX)
3. An under-seat active sub
That is the plan as discussed with Mickey but then I found this hardly-used Steg 120.2 Q-mos amp at home from a failed installation about 12 years ago (that's another story). Now I'm wondering if it will do any good to use this amp for the Carnival setup or just save it for another car another day. What do you guys think? Should I use the Steg to power the fronts? Diba overkill ang 120-wpc RMS?
Note: I'm not open to the idea of a passive subwoofer (heavy and lethal in case of a collision) which is why I'll settle for a small active sub. Thanks in advance.
A 70/30 water to coolant mix may improve cooling efficiency but that's at the cost of less...
Coolant...
