There are actually subs that can use up a smaller enclosure. One affordable brand is Hertz. Forgot the model, 10" siya, and it can run optimally using an enclosure that is as big as a 2-liter(?) box or kinda like 2 boxes of champagne/wine. Very capable and sounds impressive for a small enclosure.

Bumigay both yung stock front speakers ko and I might as well upgrade. If walang point in upgrading with everything else stock, should I just get the cheapest Pioneers or JBLs I can find nalang?

Will be using the stock HU.
Medyo harsh ang highs ng JBL/Infinity. Kinda piercing. Something warmer around that budget is a Hertz DSK or ESK. Or if you would like to add more, my favorite right now at that price is the Flux FS260. Very neutral sounding, easy to power, and adapts well in any kind of music.

    Thanks sir.

I dropped by Mickey's last Wednesday since they were open and na talk ako into getting a Polk DB651 for 4500.

Not sure how the reviews on this go pero mukhang may upgrade sa sound talaga.

Di ko alam kung nakagat na ako ng upgrade bug haha nako

ok din naman ang polk audio sir.
never mind about the reviews, it's your ears now telling it's better than your OEM kaya ok na iyan sir and enjoy
now how about a sub for the next?

Need the rear space, and dapat medyo stealth. Hassle lang sa FD and almost all newer cars is that I'll need a dashboard kit for 2DIN.

Ang mahal ng matinong 2DIN na may bluetooth! X_X

btw, your new speaker's sound quality should improve even more as you use it for a couple of days or a week. burn-in period.
i was almost regret it the first time i heard how my new component speakers sounds. eto ba binayaran ko ng ganun presyo? parang wala lang talaga sya.
but after a week of normal playing, yes it shines

you may opt for a sealed box for the sub if you are after that space in the trunk. JL audio would be nice for the job

First thing I noticed was malinaw yung sound na lumalabas sa speakers kahit FM radio lang pnapakinggan ko.

The stock speakers sound muddy. Saka nung hinahawakan ko yung pintuan from the outside, nag vvibrate haha.

At this rate, no need for mine to burn in, ok na as is! hahahaha

    Question to all --

Any decent store with a good selection of stuff in MM that is open on sundays?

Most of yung kilalang installers are closed ata kasi.

Stores like Blade/Concorde is the alternative kaso hindi super okay yung selection of items nila.

    hello everyone! new forumer here.

been in a hiatus when it comes to car audio set-up for a long time... and not updated anymore on the trends nowadays.

what set-up would you recommend for below 10k budget, for the following:
    1. 2 front speakers to replace the stock speakers - what brand/model and how much?
    2. 4-ch amplifier to power the front speakers and subs - what brand/model and how much?
    3. re-use my old 10-inch RE sub in ported box.
    4. wirings and RCA - what brand/model and how much?
    5. good installer in the south (San Pedro-Binan-Sta. Rosa area)?

to be installed in gen 2 cr-v, with pioneer deh-x2750ui HU. i'm using an i-pod touch and usb most of the time.

    would appreciate all inputs!

    TIA!

As far as I know, Maspro and JetCar in Banawe are open during Sundays. Di ko lang alam kung nagbago na sila. They are located on opposite sides of Banawe. Maspro in the old Banawe area, while Jetcar is the Mcdonald's side.

Medyo mahirap si pagkasyahin sa budget, but if you are patient enough to do a step by step upgrade, given the existing gears you have, if I were you, i'd start with a good relaible amp like a 4ch- RF Prime. I think 10k fits the budget right there.

Good installers around your area is Kid Audio/DB Audio. If you can travel to Paranaque, Musico will be one of the best and highly recommended installers around.

oh, I see. Thank you sir for the advice.

For a casual enthusiast like me, do you think the RF R300X4 is enough or too much? I'm not into car audio competitions... just want a little punch. Would you recommend getting it online, like amazon? Saw one for 118.00 USD.

Yup sir, that is actually the exact model I am referring to. May member po tayo dito yan yung gamit sa isang kotse nya, si Ninjababez. Don't worry about the specs, RF is known to underrate it's numbers. Importante your existing sub would run on 4-ohms so you will be able to bridge 2-channels from the amp to power it. If everything is a go, great! Then ipon nalang for a good set of seps in the future.
