Separates can be mounted infront, and we would like to stage to be there not on the back. Separates too tend to sound clearer because each driver can focus on certain band of frequencies.

    Just an update...

I went to the audio shop this morning and they were kind enough to test install one side with dsl entry level separates while pioneer 6x9 at the other side. In the end I opted for the former, they're both okay, gaya nga ng sinabi nila, you decide which you think suits you best. Total damage, 5500 net of discount. Thanks to all!!

6x9 speakers are basically coaxial designs on a 6x9 size format. Separates do not sound better because it's "separate".

In fact, if you can mount 6x9 speakers on fat A-pillars like one on a FJ Cruiser, that would be awesome. You get a point-source and phase-correct system right off the bat.

correct me if im wrong, paps... opinion ko lang... palagay ko naman ang set up sa home stereo ay kaparis lang din ng sa car stereo, di po ba?

so I think para tumunog ng maganda ang separates speakers... you need an equalizer, and a good amplifier... but actually, im not so sure abt this... theory ko lang...

Not just for separates but for coaxial speakers rin, equalizer is needed to properly tune your sound setup to your taste.

Most HU have built-in digital equalizer, with some more advance than others. If you are an audio enthusiast, then what you want is separate L and R channel equalizer controls. The more bands, the better.

    Amplifier is optional only.

The ideal scenario sir, if it is flat, it should sound correct, without any coloration. This is why most home audio amps, tend to forego tone controls already. Home audio will still have a big advantage over car audio mainly because of the car's cabin and the limitation of the driver's enclosure. On coaxial drivers, I am not much of a fan of those. Even in home audio applications like the KEF Q series or those Full-range drivers like Audio Nirvana. I find them cloudy.

I think Auditor Audio sir should fit your budget, it is also developed by Focal. It has very similar qualities where it does have that lively sound signature Focal has.

Buy anything within your budget. Most of them roughly sounds the same lang naman. Sound differentiation starts quite late once materials start dictating the sound signature.

My vote? You go for local - Targa, Ryan Audio, Firland Audio. Or you can go international - JBL, Pioneer, etc.

I forgot, there is a cheaper sep that sounds lively too, the Audio System MX165. I think this only cost around 3.5k. Auditioned one from my installer mounted on sail pods in a mirage then they added deadening. It has good potential. The amp that was powering it was a JBL A604.

    thanks sa reply mga sir,

another question po (pasensya sa kulit)

saan po pwede i-tap yung remote-turn-on wire ng amplifier (blue color) kung walang remote wire po yung head unit?

Sa accessory wire po found in the ignition switch. Usually color yellow po yun wire na iyan. I suggest letting a knowledgeable car electrician car audio shop do it for you. Pwede din mag lagay nang toggle switch in between the positive wire where the radio gets its power. Problem lang dito medyo hassle kase you now have two switches in order to turn on your radio.
Anyway, i'm sure kayang kayang na nang mga car audio shops gawan nang paraan iyan.

Question po mga experts. I wanted to upgrade my stock speakers and have 2 options considering that I do not intend to install amplifier (head-unit lang po direkta ang kabit ng speakers. Which would be a better option: 1- JBL seps in front, JBL coax rear and an underseat active subwoofer OR 2- Morel Maximo seps in front and Morel Maximo coax for the rear. Both options are somehow on the same price range kasi. I like a clean install kasi kaya a protruding subwoofer is out of the option. I just like to achieve a cleaner sound with nice lows vs the stock speakers. By the way, I am already using an aftermarket HU (Kenwood 2-din)

#1. The addition of an underseat active subwoofer is a "leap" in tonality.
