[quote=chito2011;2415854]I'm using a Focal PS165FX on my CRV. It cost 22k and then I added 5.5k for the deadening. There are more budget friendly speakers out there, I just wanted to try this new technology from Focal which was why I got this set. So far I am happy with it, and I find it warmer sounding than my Focal K2P on my RAV4.
not an expert but an audio enthusiast. the basic things that is recommended for your system to improve are the following:
1. Replace stock speakers with separates
2. Add an amplifier
3. Add a sub
4. Optional: Replace Headunit
remember to choose a good installer, since this is the key for your system to sound great.
when you graduate from being a casual listener to a critical listener, you now need to invest in more items like a processor, deadening, better RCAs etc. The fun never ends in car audio![]()
Guys, if anyone is interested, Kotseaudioclub is holding Car Audition Nights every Friday Night at HID Burger along Marcos Highway. The first meet was fairly successful with not less than 50 cars with about 150pax in attendance.
The featured installer for the week is Mickey's Autosound. I heard Mickey's is also holding a car audio sale as much as 70% off for anyone attending.
It's for free. Sama na!

Hi everyone. Could you pls recommend someone/shop that can install 2-DIN head unit with back up camera on my CRV 2009 and whose fee is reasonable? One ship I asked quoted Php3k for labor which I consider to be unreasonable. Thanks to those who will reply.
You got the parts na sir? Even the mounting gear for the 2-DIN radio? Kapag installation, most car audio shops charge P600 and up per part to be installed. Depending on the difficulty of the installation. I believe the HU is pretty easy to install but the rear camera, mukhang may kelangan pa yan idrill sa likod which makes it more complex aside from hiding the wires that goes from the HU to the camera itself.

Yes. It's an Android 4.1 HU with ISDB-T digital TV, GPS navigation, reverse camera and the works which I bought on eBay and shipped from Shanghai.
Sir i have a budget of 25k and my ride is a civic fd what is the best audio set up for me? I plan on getting the pioneer 265bt as my HU.. Thanks in advance mga sir
Hi sir, does the 25k exclude the cost for the pioneer 265bt already? There is an all JBL package that Simple Sound offers for that price.

Hi. another stupid newbie here. 01 Sentra GS yung auto ko. Balak kong iimprove yung sounds ko. Been checking out some ads recently and I came across some cheap subs 10" and 12". Tanong ko lang, okay ba na step one ko is magpakabit ng sub na 2nd hand before anything else? nakakita kasi ako 3500 lang sub with built-in amp na. ano massuggest niyo na gawin kong improvement since wala akong balak gumastos ng more than 10k all in na.
sorry medyo newbonoid question
Bos para sa super budget setup mo. I would suggest Akai front component speaker 2500 petot. Pioneer rear g series mga 1200 petot ata. Lightning lab 4100s amp 4ch mga nasa 3700 petot. 10 inch second hand sub ported mga nasa 3000 petot. Wiring kit mga nasa 1000 petot. Estimated 11400. Headunit pa... baka may mas cheaper pa jan bos.
take it from a fellow newbie. mostly mga expert dito sa Tsikot and sa KAC will tell you pag gusto mo step by step and limited budget ka is to:
1. deaden your doors, pag di kapa satisfied
2. buy a cheap aftermarket sep. targa has good feedbacks. pag di ka pa satisfied
3. add ka amps. preferable 4channel just in case mag dagdag ka nang sub in the future. now pag di ka pa rin satisfied
4. add ka na sub.
or you can go to any reputable shops. Tell them your budget ans see what gears they can come up with.
hope that helps
the most immediate upgrade on your system will be coming from your speakers. if you change the stock with targa which cost probably less than 2k, the sonic character will change and it might even appear cleaner sounding than what you had before. deadening is a very tricky part, and not everyone will appreciate this upgrade immediately. in deadening, it is like building a solid rigid enclosure around your speaker rather than just adding weight on your doors. when done right, midbass response should improve.
What's a really good underseat sub? I'm very particular about trunk space and hence am willing to sacrifice some bass for trunk practicality . Budget not too much of an issue.
Wow! Thank you for all the response! Here's what im planning to do based on my discussion with a fellow SCPH.
1. Replace HU from stock clarion (with cassette pa) to any authentic Pioneer HU (cost around 4500 new)
2. Add NBN sub with built-in amp (cost around 3500 new 2k used)
3. Labot should be around 1k max for HU and sub so im looking at around 9K.
Any comments? I guess this would be my first move muna. Pag di ako satisfied o makulangan, i can opt to change my front speakers first based sa mga nabasa ko dito kaya naman ipower ng 2 front speakers buong cabin.
baka may extra kayong sub or HU diyan hehe. Oh btw di na din daw kailangan palitan alternator ko. kaya naman daw ng stock yun. worse case, may big 3 ako para stable
A custom one would still be the best one but if there isn't enough space under the seat, a powered sub like this Focal Ibus 20 should fit your needs. As far as I know this cost around 28k from local car audio shops.
