OCW is durable enough to use as a standalone - it'll give you three to four weeks of protection, which is better than most locally-available OTC paste/liquid waxes.

I think Collinite + OCW is the way to go. Is there a curing time for OCW or diretso buff? Thanks.

No curing, and no real buffing. The application is spray on paint, spread with an MF towel, flip the towel, and do a second wipe. It's as easy as using a QD. When I had some paintwork done on my car recently, I used OCW exclusively (OCW is one of the few LSPs that can be used on new repaints), and applied every third or fourth wash, it held up very well.

meron bang product na pwede pang repel ng mga dirt? lakas kumapit ng dirt sa sasakyan ko siguro dahil na din sa kulay na dark blue. pagka carwash kinabukasan parang galing na agad sa harabas.

    this may sound stupid.

can i do a layer of nanoglos over a layer of already cured nanoglos? will it give me x2 protection to the paint? or it would be pretty damn useless so i should stick with glos then sliq instead?

i was thinking of more of like a sacrificial layer that i can give up when it rains. then pag tig tuyo naman apply lang ng apply ng products. as they say, save for the rainy days

I wanna find that product too. Actually there is one but I am not sure if it's already available in market. It's NEVER WET. But yah, I feel your pain that after all what you have applied on your car, after all the pampering, once it rains or ran over a puddle of water, your car would look like it hasn't been cleaned at all.

Our cars have been applied with 2 layers of 476 and UQW/OCW but the weather hasn't been really friendly and voila! water marks galore, dusty, muddy, etc. Especially when it really pours then after 5 mins it's gonna be sunny, crap! But I love to see the beading, though.

A good wax or sealant will have some self-cleaning properties. There are new coating products in the market, which are resin or silica based, that have even better self-cleaning ability, but there aren't a lot of shops or detailers which apply them, and they're a bit more expensive as well.

If you apply lightly (no pressure with the applicator), it should work. Just be aware that these products don't really "layer" - the second coat will provide a more even, consistent layer of the product on the paint, helping fill in low spots or areas where the product may have worn off, but it doesn't really add a second layer that sits on top of the first.

Hey there fellow detailers, long time no post here!

I've been having some trouble regarding the requests for copies of this guide, so I'm reposting the google docs link for it

(just copy and paste in on the browser bar)

    Hope it's still relevant!

Sir yourman, if you can avoid cleaner waxes, do so. Use dedicated cleaner products such as KAIO or step 1 para di sayang effort mo. Cleaner waxes dont do well as cleaners and at the same time, cannot match the durability of sealants and waxes. It's a poor compromise product.

Try to use step1 and cleaner waxex sparingly, siguro once every three months, since most of these products are abrasive. Sayang clearcoat mo. If you really want to deep clean it often I would suggest using a chemical cleaner like KAIO

Mawawala swirls mo sa step 2 coz it has filling properties. Nanoglos and nanosil also has filling properties.

Whay I'd suggest is do a basic detail... Wash, asphalt removal, clay, then use step 1, then apply nanosil using your orbital buffer with a light polishing pad. After nanosil you could use step 3 or top coat. Do that every three months and it will be okay as long as you can keep your wax layeralive through reapplication and boosters.

It's ok sir, if you apply Nanoglos after every car wash but for me, I feel like I am just wasting the product if I do that. Well it depends on how dirty the car got. Perhaps after 2 car washes in a week, I will reapply Nanogloss.

You can use Nanosliq if the car isn't that dirty instead of washing it with shampoo. Or you can use it after shampoo. If you are saving the product, wash it then just spray Nanosliq the next day. Nanogloss is a hybrid wax so if you apply it on top of Nanosliq then putting Nanosliq again after applying Nanogloss, you are just wasting your Nanosliq. Nanosliq is a quick detailer which boosts the wax that you applied and/or used to remove dirt, bird poops, etc.

You could try those swirl and scratch removers, compounds or polishes in removing swirls and scratches. Just use the least aggressive product first. Then you can apply Klasse twins. Or you could just try KAIO, it might remove those micro swirls already then apply the KSG to seal. After the 24 hr curing time, better if you apply another coat of KSG then wait after 24 hrs again before finishing it with the LSP of your choice.

thanks sa advise Mr TS. before I ready your thread, i was into this cleaner wax fast way of detailing the cars. Guess will have to use this sparingly and only when i dont have the time to do the STeps 1- 3 of Mothers and Microtex.

Yes i do asphalt removal using kerosene after washing whenever required. I also apply the clay bar whenever necessary. Now my problem is removing the swirl marks and minor scratches since the Step 2 and Nanisil/Nanoglos only hides these. What are good polishes out there? Do i need to purchase a good polish evenif i already have mothers and 3M scratch/swirl mark remover? Is it safe to use these products once a month?

So the orbital is recommended for Step 2 and/or Nanoglos and not for Step 1 or scratch/swirl marks remover/polishes?

Going to applicator pads, i have a few: microtex applicator (rectangular sponge with purple smooth chamois covering), ace applicator (round sponge with orange microfiber covering, and rectangular sponge covered by terry cloth. I used the ace applicator for steps 1 and 2, and for scratch remover for hard and vigorous application while the microtex applicator for step 3, reflections, and Nanoglos for easy and light applications. while for nanosliq, i used the microfiber.

Yes sir, the best way is not to go with those cleaner waxes. It's still better to use a dedicated cleaner, polisher, sealer and wax.

Try looking at Meguiar's product line such as Scratch X 2.0, Swirl X, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish. Or you could go with their professional line but they are more expensive. It's better if you do a test spot first to see if the product really works. Again, just use them sparingly especially compounds since they are even called liquid sandpaper. They can thin your clear coat. Use them as needed only. Once a month I guess is too much. Probably quarterly or depends on the degree and number of swirls.

Napabayaan ko yung car ko after a heavy rain sa underground parking for 4 days ata. Ayun, watermarks galore sa roof. Di naman gaano sa hood and sa may trunk...

I bought sa na mention na least aggressive - Meguires deep crystal paint cleaner (wala kasi ako makitaan ng KAIO) to remove those watermarks. Di kasi kaya ng wash or even Nanogloss/sliq na alisin yung marks.
