Salamat po sir. Medyo makutitos sila sir, they required us na mag comply sa standards nila, specially skills and process, tapos nag nag background check pa sila, para sure sila na yung product nila will work as claimed. Para kami na utang sa bank. Hehe

These are the more commonly used brands, but in the past 2 years maybe a lot of new brands keeps on popping up in US, Europe and Asian Markets.
I ill be speaking in general of coatings and their advantage.
    - It can give the protection of high end wax and sealants like UV protection, prevents paint oxidation, etc.
    - but coatings does this better, since they last a lot longer.
    - one thing that you will notice immediately is your car doesn't get as dirty as normally it would, lest dust and dirt adhering to paint, and if it rains, most of them will be washed away, para kang bagong carwash.
    - another is it provides a degree of scratch protection, this will depend in the brand and how hard the coating can get, but definitely harder than paint.
    - depending on the brand, certain brands can counter mineral deposits than cause watermarks, acid in acid rain, bird poop and insect guts.
    - over all you are helping your paint look like brand new for longer period of time, somehow preserving the value of your investment.

    Hope this helps.

Would be better if we patronize products / services being offered by forum old time members / moderators as a way of saying thank you and giving back to the community.

All things being equal, yes, that would make sense.

But glass coating is not a cheap thing. None would offer anything below PHP 10k, and that's not a small thing. IMHO, if a new(er) member comes along and offers a superior product, we don't necessarily have to patronize old timers / moderators. Especially since we have different needs. Now, if both are offering detailing services, then the old timers / moderators would have more street cred, and I, for one, will not hesitate to pick them over the new(er) member. But for specialized services or it is a niche market, then that's a different thing. Maybe some old timers / moderators also offer glass coating services, then that's good. It's another option out there. I guess the product used would be the one that members have to choose, more than the service provider.

If you only patronize for the sake of saying thank you, parang politics lang ang dating. Hahaha!

I'm sure everyone appreciates the forum and the knowledge this has imparted. We can express our thanks by adding more to the pool.

This is just my 2 cents.

Is it still okay to glass coat cars over 5 yrs old? I have a silver 6 yr old car and no matter how much I wax it, it still isn't shiny.

Where did you get the idea that glass coating costs 10T up? The one being offered by Clavel is lesser than that.

Hi Mam, if you plan to use your car for another 2 or more years, pwede po, para masulit nyo yung investment nyo.
If yung kintab ang issue, try having it detailed first baka mailabas ang natatagong kintab ng sasakyan nyo mam.

If I may ask Mam, original pa po yung paint?

Ok Mam, baka magawan pa ng paraan ng detailer, as long as intact ang paint, kaya po yan pakintabin ulit.

Based on the quote I got for my SUV from at least 5 different companies providing the service I don't just spew numbers from thin air. Hehehe

Of course, it includes full exterior detail (cleaning, polishing, etc.), glass (as in windshield and the other windows) protection, and wheel coating. Hindi lang glass coating ang kasama kasi it will be useless kung hindi muna na-detail ang kotse.

Also, my figures are based on SUV size (considered Large or XL size, depending on the company providing the service), hence, higher than sedans.

    Hi Sir Kitoy,

I understand you also offer regular sealant/waxing sa shop nyo po... Given every weekend regular carwash.

    1. Sealant(1500) + monthly clay and wax(700) current routine ko = est. 10k per year.

    Or

No need for waxing na po ito for a year, tama po ba? So estimate 15k per year lang po?

So 5k lang po difference? If mas sure po kayo sa durability ng glass coating, at only 5k difference, sulit na po siguro ito at mag glass coat na ko?

Im not into car shows naman, masaya na ako na tumagal ng 10 years oto with orig paint(Hopefully, zero accidents and dents. Hehe..) at presentable pa para mataas pa rin resale nya if ever ibenta.. SUV po oto. Safe and covered parking naman both sa bahay at sa workplace. Sorry napahaba..

    Salamat sir!

    Yes and No.

Yes if malinis pa yung car meron lang minor scratches and hindi makapal na swirl/water marks, pwede pang Buff to take it all off... then pwede syang lagyan ng glass coat.

Before we do a job, we make sure the client is well informed sa condition ng car nila hindi lang basta tira ng tira.

NOTE: HINDI PO TOTOO ANG SINASABI NA SCRATCH / DUST PROOF PO ANG CAR PAG MAY GLASS COAT NA.

    Hi Sir Janemar,

If we are just talking about cost and durability with your monthly regimen of sealant. Mas mura po yung coating, with your estimated cost of 10k yearly dagdag ka lang ng konti, you can get atleast 2 years protection from a coating.

So if sulit, i'll say it is sulit sir, pag mararanasan mo sir ang protection na binibigay ng coating, ay hahanap hanapin mo na.

Pede bang per panel ang coating? Sample if na accident ako and need 2 panels repaired sa casa - will glass coating shops allow coating of 2 panels at lesser cost?
