I think the guys at Car & Driver tried out if an amateur can really do PDR using the said device.

They were not very successful at it. Skill is still a very vital ingredient.

DIY dent removers like this works only on some dents...on some, hindi niya kaya. Especially if the dent is near a ridge. If it's like a dimple on a flat surface, kaya niya. The key to dent removers like this is the glue. It has to be strong enough to stick to the surface while you're trying to pull the dent back, while remaining brittle enough to break off without taking the paint with it if you fail to pull the dent out.

Oh, here's a review of the ding king. Can't vouch though for the site that made the review:

nasubukan ko na yan, pero it doesnt work kung mas maliit pa sa diameter ng Ding King ang dent. Saka kapag nasa corner ng body ang dent, hindi uubra.

medyo 50/50 yan... it works on some dents, it doesn't for some... with my corolla before it got rid of a couple of light dings but some didn't come off even if it's very light... Dont know why, it's a bit finicky to determine how much adhesive to use and how long it should stay...

like what ungas said, all pdr methods are only recommended for factory finishes and will not work with repainted cars since repainted panels will never adhere as well as factory finishes.
