tama ka mildly abrasive ang step 1, pero kaya naman recommend na 1 to 2 x a year lang ang gamit nito kasi sa steps na ito dapat nag step2 and step3 ka rin at pag dinasa mo pa ang instructions yun step 2 and 3 mga 5x a year mo ginagawa naman, at dahil dito well maintained and protected ang paint mo.
and medyo mag cloud talaga yung paint mo kasi natangal ang wax niya. lagyan mo ng step2 sealer and glaze pag tuyo na tangalin mo ( let it cure for 24 hrs) then apply step3 carnuba wax, yan din ang gamit ko ngayon nabili ko sa ace hardware.
I would suggest you try to wetsand the paint using waterproof sand paper, fold to the sandpaper and clip it until only one finger is covered with the wet sanding paper and then sand away, i would also suggest using a shampoo solution and a spray bottle to be safer in wet sanding, if you use a 2000 to 2500 grit sandpaper it should be thin and soft enough to the point where you could feel the excess paint then just follow and sand the affected area being carefull not to sand the unaffected clear coats on the side, the key here is patience in slowly reducing the excess paint, once every thing is sanded and you now see the clear coat its time to pull out the machine and foam pad and buff it all off followed by a polish, there are also some claybars out there that are aggressive enough to remove even larger drops of paint one of them is Megs Professional Aggressive Clay.
Washing if done correctly is usually better in cleaning the paint making the wax exposed more, you see if you use a QD to clean the paint you're not really removing road film where with washing there is a higher chance that you could remove road film exposing the real layer of wax making it bead more.
Worse case scenario is that you might have marred the paint, its nothing that a quick mild polish wouldn't fix, bring it over this sunday and lets try to fix it, Step 1 is not really that aggressive, its aggressive as a cleaner but not as a polish, there is a fine line between that, well basically you did simulate 2 years of maintenance on the painted part on a very well maintained car, but take note that is on a well maintained car that doesn't really need that much pre-wax cleaning.
This is quite interesting coz I nearly follow the same regime:
1. 476s Detail with Sliq
2. Monday Tuesday (No rain), dust off lang, Sliq
pg-umulan, hose down, sheeting, dry, dust off, then sliq
3. Wednesday - Wash and Sliq (pag kulang sa oras, ONR waterless wash)
4. Thu and Fri, repeat step 2
5. Weekend - wash and sliq ulit
6. next 5 days, usual regime
7. Back to step 1 (meaning detail and sliq every other week)
what could be changed in this routine, to ensure 476s lasts long? would daily washing help that much?
same kc concern ko, after 2 weeks, d na tight beading, pero meron pa rin... adik lang kasi ako pag nakikita ko na tight ung water beads... pag masmalaki na sa limang piso ung water drop sa roof ko, (in about 1 week), feeling ko one week na lang ung life ng wax.
also, nakakatanggal ba ng roadfilm and waterless wash? pareho lang ba tlga ang effects ng waterless wash and regular wash, kung manipis lang ung dirt?
*chikselog - chief, i remember you were trying out products before as to the culprit in why your wax deteriorates quick...
did you ever find out if it was the Microtex duster that strips off your wax? or the ONR Cleaning QD solution?
guys who used 476s.. meaning kung gusto mo ng tight beading talaga, dapat every week ka mag apply ng 476s? hindi tumatagal yung tight beading ng 14days? TIA
namimili kasi ako ngayon if 476s or 885 ang bibilin ko..
if 885 ilang days kaya tatagal? sino na naka experience?
basis ko sa 476s is yung sinabi ni sir rico_g na "after 2 weeks, d na tight beading, pero meron pa rin...... pag masmalaki na sa limang piso ung water drop sa roof ko, (in about 1 week), "
meaning 1 week lang tinatagal nung tight beading? TIA
Im surprised sa poliseal, natanggal niya yung watermarks na baked on na sa paint kahit finishing pad lang while leaving the surface very slick and shiny. Ultimate one step product siya. Still haven't tried OCW yet.

Sa bahay ng sister ko yan, detail ko lang din car niya.

Guys, pwede bang gamitin as pre-wax cleaner ang M66? If yes, san ba nakakabili nung repacked bottles na 8oz? Meron kaya sa Meguiars Kamias branch?
Tinitignan ko rin kasi yung product ng Mothers na step1. Although it says I only need to use it once or twice a year. Medyo sayang sa bucks at baka mas abrasive kaya ganun. Tama ba pagkakaintindi ko? THANKS!
yung m66 cleaner wax na siya. Pero for me mas maganda pa din yung dedicated products for each step. Yung m66 at d151 ng megs all in one product. Sa megs kamias meron niyan dun nga lang makakabili ng repacked na megs products.
Sir matagal tagal ko na rin pong di nagagamit itong duster ko, need na kasi bumili ng replacement head ang itim na eh hehe.
Hmm, as to your question I'm not really sure if any of the 2 ang culprit. Actually di ko talaga ma-figure out kung ano eh. Maybe because once a week na lang ako nakakapag-wash dahil kulang sa oras or yung ulan-then-araw na weather natin ngayon.
i think wala naman curing time yung step 2 s&g since glaze lang naman siya.
