Guys, please. Don't over to the OC'ness.
Wiping light dust with a microfiber won't incur scratches. The essence of microfibers is that it's softer than your ordinary rug. This makes it impossible to scratch paintwork unless you managed to trap hard particles inside the fibers such as minute rocks.
And the duster is over-rated whether it be Microtex, feather duster, or a synthetic duster. If you get a small rock particle there (or some bird **** managed to stick on it), kahit anong wax pa nasa surface niyan, it'll scratch the paintwork.
The logic of scratching is easy naman: Hard surface versus hard surface = friction = scratch.
As for dust, naturally.. dust will settle on the surface. Unless you park in an air-tight room, that's just the reality of life. However, there are dust-attractors and dust-repellers. That's one of the reasons why I'm not too much of a fan of NanoSliQ unless for spot-on touches.. it attracts dust particles but since it's cheap, gets the job done, it still remains high on my choice of a QD. Now if you want a dust-repeller, you'll be looking at anti-static sprays such the one Finish Kare is famous for.

i don't believe it but i bought a gallon of that anti-static stuff. could be the extra smooth surface after application that makes even dust slide off.
i've seen it once after buffing KSG, not the FK, an ant slid off the paint. will do that test again when my newly painted panels have cured.
