How about Sil? It fills din daw so it's like a glaze. Is it ok to do a Sil + 845 combo?

What Nanosil does is that it's like a AIO. It polishes/clean, glaze, and seals. My hypothesis is that Nanofil is a dedicated glazing product with more swirl-filling capability but without the protection and micro-abrasion involved in leveling the paint.

As for the Sil + 845 combo. Yes. In fact it's recommended as Nanosil's protection doesn't last too long. Topping that with a durable wax is sure to extend the life of the Nanosil below it.

Pare, if you still need the ONR that I saw way back sa PD, PM me here nalang if you're near Banawe lang or something. I can provide you with 8oz for free as I still have 30% of a gallon left in mine Fellow detailing enthusiast perks

Correct - my understanding is that NanoFil is made for the purpose of filling, using similar but slightly different technology to NanoSil. However, Fil needs to be sealed in with NanoSil for it to remain on the paint.

you got a great plan of action. don't forget to clay first. put more emphasis in cleaning and polishing in preparation for waxes and such and whatever your choice of wax will look great. just ask when you come into some snags.

    Hi,

Stumbled upon Opti-coat philippines. Any feedback on this?
Totoo ba na lifetime protection na ito? Wala ka na gagawin after? Wash na lang?

    Na-interes ako dito.

    Thanks in advance! =)

nothing afterwards is ok, but it is not lifetime. needs washing of course.

the endurance is great. it's more cost effective in material, effort and time required than using other LSPs. don't collect these types for comparison if there are no other cars to test/use them on cos they last very long.

Cant give one. But i feel it's on the expensive side. The product itself is just cheap. And what they're charging is too far from opticoat product only. Afaik, it gives less shine than what usual carnauba wax gives. Try checking waxspot in banawe. I think they also offer the service in a cheaper price.

Mga bossing just want to foray into the external DIY detailing and want to ask your opinions about my chosen products.
My usual regimen is wash the car if time permits at a reputable carwash center (usually BB) / DIY carwash with microtex, (had a single clay session at BB approx 6mos. ago), monthly nonosil ffd by nanogloss. Nanosliq usually pag walang time magpawash after dusting the panels.
All done by hand kaso parang ang bilis mawala nung mga microtex products and nakakapakod (recently parang 3x ako nagwax in a month dahil sa kakaulan), so Iam deciding to buy the ff items:

    Polisher
Meguiars G110V2 Professional Dual Action Polisher, Meguiars SoftBuff 2.0 Polishing Pad #W8207,Meguiars SoftBuff 2.0 Finishing Pad #W9207

    Claying
Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay Kit #G1016

    Cleaning/Polishing
    Meguiars Ultimate Compound #G17216
Meguiars G19216 Ultimate Polish 16 oz.

    Protection
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 topped by Collinite Marque D’Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax #915
    vs
    Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze

Vehicles: 2007 Isuzu Dmax Phoenix Gold and a 2012 Mitsu MS Quartz Brown
Allocated Time: Mga 48 hrs siguro during weekends
    TIA

Lahat naman mahal eh. Even just waxing at detailing shops is expensive versus doing it yourself. I believe they're charging something like 5,000php for the Opticoat service. It's not cheap either as the syringe costs $70 and covers two to three cars I believe. Still, you're paying for the preparation. Applying opticoat isn't like applying any day to day waxes.

Yun nga sir, medyo expensive that is why I wanted to be sure that quality and service is at its best. I know the price of opticoat itself but I think the preparation and their experience in applying it in the car makes it at that price. I read a lot about opticoat being difficult to apply. In addition, kapag mali ata ang lagay ay parang mag-crack ang coating. Also, dapat sa ganyang presyo ay pang-matagalan talaga.

I am interested kasi as much as I wanted to clean the car. I have no control of various dirts, bird poop, swirls and rain. OC ba. hehe. Sa videos kasi sa youtube. Nakakabilib and water repelling/beading niya.

    I stand corrected, it's at Php6,800.

Still, even if it's at five grand, I wouldn't even recommend Opticoat. It's just too darn expensive for the everyday detailer. Want a easier route? Buy Collinite 845. That bottle will last you for more than 2 years under normal use and it will just cost you under Php1,000.

Take note that no amount of protection will last you "a year". Just give me three months and I'll have it parked under a particular tree in our village.. I guarantee you patay yun opticoat layer ;)

Remember that Collinite advertises their 845 to last more than 3 months, yet in normal day to day driving, I'll peg it at a month and that's after several bird bombs during the month. Klasse is advertised as bi-annual protection but I'll peg it at 2 months in everyday driving.
