    POLISHING

    AFTER POLISHING
    - as i'm quite satisfied already with the shine I get from Nanosil so I'm considering just topping it off with an OCW. Is NanoGlos or NanoSliq still a necessary step?

    KLASSE/ CARLACK TWINS
    - I already have ONR and OCW. From what I've read, main advantage of the Klasse/ Carlack products is longevity. So if I have the Optimum system to protect the Microtex products I'm using, I can opt not to shell out for the Klasse/ Carlack options?

Thanks in advance for your response detailing gurus.

I would consider a microfiber pad; it'll help with the cleaning properties of the product, and might also help break it down better.

It depends on how much you rate durability vs convenience. OCW will last about three to four weeks, versus two to three months for the Klasse twins, so you'll need to re-apply more often. On the flipside, using OCW will add about five to ten minutes to your after-wash routine, while the Klasse twins will take an additional couple of hours (two products to apply, plus slower application with a foam applicator vs towel, plus the need to wipe residue, plus the need to let KSG dry for one hour).

I would suggest getting a dedicated paint cleaner, such as Mothers or Meguiar's step 1, and use it every quarter or twice a year - just to ensure that embedded dirt and contaminants get removed.

Thank you for your inputs Mr umi001. The durability vs convenience comparison pretty much answered my query in getting the Klasse twins or not

okay, thank you sir umi. how often do you re-apply the Glaz water repellant? and ung Glaz watermarks remover, kailangan pa bang apply ulit un? magkaka watermarks pa ba? kasi nag apply ka na ng Glaz water repellant.

it's again the onset of the rainy season, what detailing regimen are you putting in place to protect your car paints from the harsh rain water and acids?

mine, after a polishing and cleaning, i applied Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection and after curing, topped it with Collinite 915...looks nice so far

A fresh coat of 476 every time I'm free, since I can't wash the car every time it rains, and usually watermarks bake in the sun.

Anyone here have any experience using OGPS? Have the opportunity to have someone buy it for me in the US and it seems to be a good alternative to KAIO.

No choice eh, durability vs. shine

Sinubukan ko gumamit ng Clay bar kit kahapon. Yun pala ang pinaka sulit na detailing product. Super smooth ng paint after claying, parang galing sa casa yung 2005 jazz ng younger bro. ko. Tapos Mothers step 1 and Nano gloss inapply namin.

Dun naman sa red car ko Mothers step 1 and reflections. Question ko, do i still need to apply a QD after reflections? like Mothers showtime?

Reserving the weekend to prep the car for the rainy season. Here is the plan I've drawn out.

    1. Full Wash
    2. Clay
    3. Wash
    4. Cleaner - MOMs Step1
    5. M34 Final Inspection
    6. M105
    7. KAIO
    8. M34
    9. Megs M7
    10. M34
    11. KSG (planning on 3 passes)
    12. 915 after competing KSG
    13. Sonax Brilliant Shine QD for maintenance

kailangan pa ba ung step 4&5 kung step 6 ay M105?
para saan ung M7 in between KAIO & KSG?

Hi Sir...would probably take me a week since I don't do it full time naman and only have the Saturday and Sunday as full days to do it. This is the bi-annual detail regimen I use. Pampatagal yung curing ng KSG but based sa experience ko and some here, the luster and shine really stands out after 2 or more passes KSG. Regarding use of the cleaner, my OC side just got the best of me and want a bare surface prior to compounding hence the cleaner. M34 naman is final inspection w/c i use to wipe down any trace wax na hindi ko na buff out or dust (again my OC side). M7 is Megs pure glaze lang. No protection whatsoever from application of this. Makes sense to apply this prior to sealing. Now im not sure as to adhesion of KSG to this but Im willing to try for experience's sake.

    Mr. Allenjo,

Nice...I haven't done anything that extensive but will look to do so 3 months from now. Though I will just probably stick to the below as I only have a window of a few hours...or else my baby boy will "help" me clean it

Wash using ONR (provided a full wash is not needed...or else its MICROTEX)
Clay using MOTHERS CLAY/ LUBE COMBO
    Clean using MOHERS STEP 1
Glaze/ Seal/ Polish...most probably be using OPTIMUM GPS instead of KLASSE
    Wax using OCW

I'm not really after a showroom shine so this will do

Eitherway, all the best to your undertaking...should be a good workout for you

I left mine for two months before re-applying - it was still there, and working fairly well, but there was some slight degradation, and I wanted to refresh the coating. I applied directly on top of the old layer, after an IPA cleaning - supposedly it bonds to itself, so I was thinking it shouldn't be too much of an issue to layer. I would probably consider stripping every six months or so, though - just to remove any embedded dirt and grime.

I wish I had the time to do a full detailing session - too busy with work and post-grad studies, though. So just cleansed the paint with KAIO and a crimson pad, then applied some Dodo Juice Rubbish Boy's Juiced Edition - I'll maintain with my usual regimen of regular rinseless washes (using the new ONR with wax, supplemented with Pinnacle waterless wash). I'll continue to polish a panel at a time when possible, though (only done the hood and roof so far).

Just be mindful of the fact that GPS is abrasive, and probably shouldn't be used as often as you can KAIO.

There's really no need to apply a QD, per se - it will be helpful in maintaining slickness after a wash, or for light dust, but I don't see the need immediately after waxing.
