since the metal is rustproofed, the undercoat helps bounce stuff off, to not scratch the metal. you can diy spray it or just use a brush. Sooner, to protect wheel well metal. some gas stations sell canned undercoat. Shell is one.

Sir,
Water based yung Hyper Dressing. Para siyang armorall pero adjustable yung dilution niya depende sa level ng shine na gusto mo.
High Gloss 1:1
Medium Gloss 2:1
Satin Finish 3:1
Natural Finish 4:1
http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-hyper-dressing.html

*kerikzb: two things that also worked for me and my BF are Mr. Clean wheel brush, its really soft nylon bristles also doesn't scratch, for hyper dressing a good alternative for that would be microtex tireblack but this should only be used for exterior surfaces if thats where you want to put it, if its interior hyper dressing is a good choice
Boss jed, just got a bottle like scharnhorst fill it half way with water(500ml). i didnt really measure how much tire black i put in..im guessing 25:1(thats 20ml of tire black??). dark blue pa din siya unlike yung kay scharnhorst na medyo light blue na. sorry. il measure it next time.. hehe. but ginawa ko muna yung sinabi ni Sir Ed. linis muna wells, then wipe some pure tire black sa wells. then next car wash, hose down lang then spray dilution.

Belt type
pros
very strong motor
very durable, these things basically last you a really really long time
pressure is adjustable
parts are easy to look for
cons
very heavy to move around and store unless you're planning on permanently mounting it
very noisy
requires a good water supply set up like drums and water hoses to the drum
consumes a lot of water
Electric non belt type Pressure washers
pros
very easy to store ideal for mobile detailing and tranporting
very light weight
can easily plug into a faucet ( but if water pressure is low this will eventually be a con )
saves a lot more water compared to belt types which consume up to 4 times more GPM
Cons
Parts are hard to find and basically not repairable
Not as durable as belt type, its like a hit or miss with the cheaper ones sometimes they last sometimes they don't so better invest on the good ones
Pressure it not adjustable
Short pressure hose
my suggestion
if you will be using it for long term and just on your car, and if you have the spare cash to invest on a drum and water hose and valve and not to mention a dedicated space, then go for the belt type, these things practically last you a really long time, their only maintenance is grease and motor oil and the motor is heavy duty in most brands, but if you're planning on using it elsewhere in the house and would like to keep it then i would suggest getting those on hardware stores
question on CCD.. they said the dirtier it gets, the better..
but when do you say it has served its purpose and time to replace with a new one? mine's 4 years na and sobrang dumi.. have you tried washing your CCD?
as always, Thank you ma'am for your very detailed inputs... (.."detailer" ka nga talaga ma'am![]()
)
I'm leaning towards those belt types for the sturdiness and parts availability, it will be used on 4 cars, 2 sedans, 1 suv and an L300 fb so I guess a belt type is more advisable...
...I already have a spare plastic drum so bawas narin sa gastos for the drum and space is not an issue. Now I just need to find where to source out some good belt type PW, the least expensive cyempre but with good enough quality.. bang for the buck ika nga.. any recommended brand? I'm thinking of looking around evangelista st. sa may raon area but medyo nagdadalawang isip ako these days kasi magpapasko and for sure dami tao and terrible ang traffic...
hello detailing addicts! pwede po ba idiscuss dito ang engine detailing? specifically yung waterless? ano chemicals, tools ang gagamitin? then procedures and precautions? Dos and Don'ts?
good day to all
im currently new here in tsikot and ive been reading the old posts of this thread and medyo naguguluhan ako with all the abreviations of the products. currently an owner of a 2nd hand isuzu crosswind, color is white. there are some parts where a yellowish discoloration is present, only visible when you look at it closely. i have no experience in detailing or what so ever. if i could ask a little help from you guys, whats a good combo for detailing the car weekly? can you give me the specific products than can be bought OTC preferably from true value or ace hardware? upon reading some of the posts, ive been interested with meguiars swirlx and nanoglos/nanosliq (does nano glos gives back the glossy look of the car? since my car isnt that shiny anymore)
would appreciate if someone would give me the proper rundown with a combo for detailing after the wash of the car. thank you
