i'm interested on where you guys buy your microfibers and brushes.. what kinds are there?

i still plan to drop by one of these days to BigBert's to have my exterior assessed, dami nang swirls, the tasks might be too big for a newbie like me. excercise muna sa interior...

ok yung TW Upholstery Cleaner. You can actually remove the brush.. pero, try to get a good APC to do your interiors. Ingat ka nga lang sa leather seats cause these are a bit difficult to clean. they might dry up and crack.

also, if you have the money, invest in a good ROP (random orbital polisher). makes life much much easier..

as for other products, check out Pinas Detailing. tons of info!

part of the fun in detailing comes in trying different product combinations that work for you.

Am currently using Simple Green APC. When it runs out, I'll get the Meguiars APC.

v22: I currently get my towels from Bigberts, waxes from True Value or Hans.

meron ako dito sa bahay, rotary tool BOSCH ang tatak. may kasama nang foam pad pero maliit lang..im thinking of investing in a 3M pad (850pesos at ace hardware) para pang polish off ng wax..

what cleaner wax do you guys recommend? grabe ang dumi ng white car ko eh..di pantay ang mga kulay ng mga panels ko..i've seen one, turtle wax cleaner wax..mga 400pesos++ na rin, ok kaya ito?

also i've seen some microfiber towels sa ace harware rin, dunno if they're any good as what bigbert's is selling..

The Rotary is one of the most difficult tools to master in when it comes to detailing. ingat na lang sa use ng Rotary.. improper usage can result in buffer burns / swirls / holograms on your finish

hmm..haven't tried TW cleaner wax yet. what i have are Mother's, Megs, and Eagle One...

A cleaner wax is basically a quick all-in-one product. so that means there are trade-offs on this. If you have time, a defined 3 step process (paint cleaning, polishing and sealing) would definitely give better results. tapos maintenance na lang...

Mothers Cleaner Wax is good. You can also try Bigberts' Liquid Shine.

mmm... pwede din yung All Purpose Cleaner. May mantsa ba? Wag mo lang gamitan ng brush, dapat towel pamunas mo.

is it really worth all the time and effort to prevent/remove swirl marks which are hardly noticeable anyways to the common persons eye?

It really depends on your preference, some people are perfectionists and want their rides to be really spotless and swirlfree which is really imposible if its your daily driver, some people really don't care, as for me I've been able to learn that swirls and scratches are a part of a car specially daily drivers I just want to minimize it and regularly maintain my detailing routine.

ILD: Been using the Makita for around 3 years already.. started off practicing with old beat-up cars. then finally mustered the courage para sa ride ko...hehehe the idea of using one was daunting at first pero once you get over that initial hump you'll be blown away by the results. Also, some painters in our warehouse were willing to help me out...

IMO, The best ways to learn are:
    1) actually use this tool (just pick it and let her rip...hehehe)
    2) learn from watching / have someone teach you

hmm as for tips, hope other Rotary users can chime in pero here's a few:
    - keep it moving at a constant Left to Right / Cross-Hatch pattern; don't stay too long on one spot
    - don't use too much pressure
    - use the right pad-product combo (depende na rin sa skill level...)
    - make sure you have a complete grip on the Rotary

will try to post a few more later...

dehadista: thanks for the tip. If I have some extra cash, might purchase one, pagpapractisan ko FX namin hehehe.

It all depends on you. or kung gaano ka-OC ka.

Swirls marks on daily drivers will always be there / reappear no matter what happens. That's just the way it is lalong-lalo na dito sa Metro Manila...

Why not fill them (swirl marks) instead na lang? Mom's SG or 3M IHG would do great...

  18. #38
Wala akong makitang 3M IHG... san ba makakabili nito? mmm... might as well go with Bigberts Liquid Shine kung wala akong makita.

dehadista: any pics of your rides, yung bagong detailed
