It depends on how you define machine buff

    if its

machine wax = meaning application of cleaner wax and then removed via machine using a pad then you can have this done every month

2 step = meaning using a polish and then machine wax, then you can have this done every time you get a lot of swirls on your car

3 step = meaning using rubbing compound, polish and machine wax then i would suggest you only avail of this service only when desperately necessary since this really does remove a considerable amount of clear coat

Then again, bottom line, it still depends on the level of the detailers skill, my Bf recently saw a Revo that was really shiny and glossy and it was 3 stepped 5 times and it still has some orange peel and i've seen a car 3 stepped only thrice and it already striked thru the primer

if it is always buffed to the point where it generates too much heat its already painful to touch then thats really bad for the paint and you shouldn't even do it at all, for the really skilled detailers they don't really get the paint hot, just a little warm and this is talking about compounding and polishing, if the place you're going to makes the paint really how when its just a machine wax procedure then there's something wrong with what they're doing if its a little warm then its ok. Machine wax doesn't really contain any abrasive particles so once its used properly it should not be able to reduce any significant level of clearcoat but if it gets too hot then again there's something wrong there.

Sir proper washing technique using MF washmitts, 2 bucket method and MF or waffle weave drying towel para ma minimize ang cause ng swirl marks. Everytime na nag reremove ka ng swirl marks little by little nababawasan ang clear coat ng paint.

Kung hand application ok ang Megs Swirl X and maintain with Wax.

Yep sir I'm even doing a 3 bucket method, one bucket for top panels and other one for bottom/wheels. Using 4 Microtex plush + blower to dry the whole thing.

Wow tyaga nyo sir plush MF towel lang sa montero? Ako hirap na hirap mag car wash ng montero ang taas kasi masyado. Try using washmitt and 2 bucket. 1 bucket for rinsing the washmitt when it gets soiled and the other one filled with shampoo. Kung OC talaga you can also use grit guard on both buckets para hindi mag recirculate yung dumi sa bucket.

    Jmpet626,

May mabibilihan ba ng grit guard dito sa Manila? Dati kasi i'm planning to buy from states kaso lang i'm not sure naman kung it will fit my bucket.

Hehehe well if you're planning on removing them then you'll need a polish for that, and that means reducing clear coat, so why not just fill them? there's Microtex Nano Glos, NXT, and step 2 for that

Well that's what I'm doing right now, spot step 2. Ganun na nga lang siguro. Btw, thanks for your advice, will opt instead for Microtex elite. Kay Edwin ko na rin kukunin.
