This part Ive done before with excellent results:
1. get materials
a. let a local dealer mix a paint that matches your color, just a small bottle would do. (you don't need to take the entire car for them to mix the paint...just remove your gas tank cover and they can mix based on the color of that)
b. get a nail polish (what you would need is just the container). rinse the container thoroughly with acetone and let dry completely. take note not to remove the rattler ball, it will come handy when shaking the paint later.
c. fill the nail polish container with paint (the purpose of this is that you can have a touch up paint anytime you need, without getting it dry. also you will need the brush of the nail polish for applying.
d. you will also need sandpaper, I use grit 1200
e. solvent to remove dirt after wet sanding
2. lightly wetsand the scratched part...purpose of this is to let the touch up paint stick well
3. lightly clean the sanded part with solvent (not too much), let dry completely.
4. shake the nail polish container and apply touchup paint to the sanded scratched part using the nail polish brush (dont worry if it is a bit elevated). after applying paint, close the nail polish container quickly (paint dries fast, especially polyurethane)
5. let dry completely (i wait two days to fully cure)
6. wet sand after completely dry (by using any improvised sanding block, puwede piece of any hard level material then put sandpaper on top. do this carefully as you might get the surrounding clear coat to thin.
7. if you feel it is already level, polish with rubbing compound.
8. put wax for protection...

key is the paint mixture and patience in doing the procedure.
