December 11th, 2013 03:01 AM #451Thanks for the reply, however I can't see any reference to their Opticoat program in their website. And wouldn't it be misleading to advertise it as Optiguard Paint Protection if they don't actually use Optiguard? AFAIK Opti Coat is a product meant tobe used by the DIY crowd whild Opti Guard is meant to be professionally applied.

Optiguard - BigBert's Professional Detailers
Big Berts has been branded their PPP program under the banner of "Optiguard" unfortunately nauna sila before Optimum Technologies changed the Opticoat into what we call now as Optiguard. In this case, it isn't BB's fault na ganun pangalan ng program nila.
It has already been stated in their website that they're using German acrylic pre-seal and sealant in their quarterly sessions. Most detailers knows of these as the Klasse Twins combo of KAIO + KSG (also distributed in other countries as Carlack).
Optiguard is simple an additional clear-coat layer. Personally as a detailer, I'll go for a PPP regimen instead of a "one-time" application. Durability is one thing.. but your car will incur scratches over time and this can only be corrected via a paint correction regimen (polish/compound). This is what makes a car look "brand-new" -- the absence of surface impurities.

December 11th, 2013 05:13 PM #454Still, Optiguard is a patented brand name isn't it? If it is then BB should by law change the name as it is owned by somebody else. Opti Guard is a world renowned brand name nowadays isn't it? Just like Coca Cola or Mac. I do understand that reading the fine print is important and I didn't do so; so it's my mistake just like saying you serve Coke but not from Coca Cola nor is it even remotely related to Coca Cola. I found out what I wanted and where to get it, it just seems so misleading when the first search item you find for Optiguard in the Philippines isn't really related to what you where searching for. I'll still continue the PPP in BB
for the other car for comparison. Thanks!

In this case, the name isn't. But the formula that's IN the product should have been patented by Optimum. In any case, I believe by rule of law that if a brand name exists before the patent, then it isn't required to change it as it came before the patent. In fact, Apple ponied $60 million for the using their "iPad" trademark on China soil as there has already been an existing "iPad" patent in China even before Apple released the first-generation of iPad.
In any case, good luck on your detailing journey!

December 22nd, 2013 08:35 AM #456Just completed the Big Bert's (BF Pque) package Optiguard paint sealing and the final detailing work on my vehicle. Hindi ako na "wow". In a scale of 1 to 10, my rating is only a 4. Their application of "tire black" was not thorough. When I checked on the tires yesterday morning, there were areas missed in "tire black" application. I have to redo it myself. I was offered to renew the package at a 20% discount, but I feel it is not worth it. The service package is over rated and hyped up. I hope BB will take this in a constructive manner to improve their service and increase their business. As of now I cant recommend BB to my friends.

Looks like nobody did a quality check yata
before releasing your monty. Sayang ipapasok ko pa naman sana monty ko sa Jan sa kanila. Besides I think they should have corrected the issue instead of offering you 20% since hindi ka na nga satisfied sa trabaho nila. just my 20 cents

my 2 cents is, only their ortigas branch is up to par when it comes to their services because the boss is almost always there. when I tried their relocated shop in araneta ave., the carwash boys broke my car's eyelid. I just noticed it when I arrived at the house na lang.
no carwash shop is perfect though.
