Wait, I think Bigberts should confirm this specific query when you can actually wax your car. Ideally, to be on the safe side, you let the paint cure properly (around 2 to 3 mos.) before any wax be applied to it. For the meantime, you can apply step 2.

But as you said, your ride has Optiguard already, that only mean that your car has wax or some sort of protection already.
