Invest in LSP (Last Step Product). Options are: Mother's Step 3 Pure Carnauba Wax around P600, Mother's Topcoat around P1k, Meguiar's Step 3 around P600, Meguiar's NXT 2.0 around P1700, or Carlack SG around P1500; last two are my best picks. NXT has hydrophobic polymer technology and Carlack is not wax based (prolonged protection).

Check with Bigberts which LSP would best fit since some would not work if paired with another.

If you know how to "wax" not just wax wax, then you can do it monthly or even as frequent as weekly. If you are still not comfortable enough or have second thoughts if you're or you'll be doing it correctly then go to Bigberts. I'm sure they can teach everything you need to know.
