I will introduce the idea that Tsikot is coming up with its own version of the PHUV......I hope this event in our place in Cavite will inspire native manufacturers there to revive the OJTs or FUVs..![]()
re: amateurish and impractical
i agree with jpdm. kanya-kanyang taste yan e. atsaka sanayan din. ano ba model an kotse mo? baka mayaman ka at masyadong sophisticated ang taste mo. kung ikaw ang tatanungin, kaya mo bang mag-design ng kotseng gusto mo? if yes, help out and post your suggestions here. para maging constructive at may silbi naman yung comments mo.

Uy... merong traditional na Pinoy pala na naka monitor dito....
hehehe
3. amateurish kasi wala pang pangalan.
Let me educate you a bit about Car Culture in case you don't know...
1. DR. FERDINAND PORSCHE designed the VW Beetle in the 1940's and He also made his first sports car in the early 1950's... it was the first PORSCHE prototype based on the Beetle.
PORSCHE 356, Spyder, Speedsters where designed by an amateur designer... definitely - there were no schools for auto design during those days, yet still today - many collectors consider it one of the most desireable designs.
2. Ford Model T - was the car that has put America on wheels and has placed America on top of the industrial revolution race... guess again - the Designer is also an amateur designer... Henry Ford is just a Mechanic with a DREAM! (check my source: Napoleon Hills' Law of Success)
3. Honda S200 or S500 or something... anyways - the earliest Honda Open top sports car was designed by Soichiro Honda... an amateur car designer - with a DREAM!... not really a student of design...
amateurs are enthusiasts... (enthusiasts = God within) These are people who burn the midnight oil just to make their dreams a reality... These are the very same people who were the pioneer spirits in shaping your country. If there is anybody more willing to place a bigger stake on any endeavour or project... it is these type of people.
Industrialists normally get these type of people since they have a better vision... A professional will only be looking at his paycheck and billing receipts... but a dreamer, will go the whole 9 yard to achieve results.
Thats what sepparates the Movers from the Benchwarmers.
Kawawa na nga economiya ng bansa - simply because of people like - **** who are so busy putting down his kababayans that are basically dreaming to see a world power - Pinoy. Instead of thinking what He Can do for the Country - he is thinking of what He can buy from Another Country...
These kind of people idolizes foreign made cars... I am not saying na ipatronize niyo ang gawang pinoy kahit pangit... I am merely saying that - ipatronize natin at i-encourage ang local na mga talento upang mag-excell at higitan kung pe pwede ang mga gawang banyaga.
If you cannot be part of the SOLUTION - PLEASE.... DONOT BE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
Nagkakaintindihan ba tayo?![]()
Again - back to topic.
... kaso baka magulat.
Anyway, there is nothing to fear like - plagiarism. As long as the designs we post here are with our signature or digital signatures... we are still protected by COPYRIGHT LAWS.
The aim is to encourage many talents out there to join this movement to empower the PINOY car INDUSTRY and DESIGN SECTOR.
- NOW WAY JOSE! . .. they will only make us their corporate slaves and serve their best interest.
The reason why we also need to showcase it here is to measure the acceptability anf desireability of the concepts... negative feedbacks are also very much welcome... like SPECTRAL - he can be a potential creative Critic... importante rin sila so that the amateur designers can improve their works.
In that way, we can have a culture of CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT. We don't need to pattern ourselves with ISO or any other International Standards... but If we can have this culture of CONQUERING OURSELVES daily... I cannot see why we will be failing in the next 5 years to come.
Lipas na ang EDSA Revolution... panahon na ngayon na Magkaron ang Pinas ng sariling ating Industrial Revolution.... and it doesnt have to be outdated.
Bow!

Gentlemen...
Here is one of my old concepts na hindi ko masyadong pinaghirapang gawin...
It is an OTJ Platform based ROADSTER SUV. roadster in the sense that it is Low Profile, but it has a high Road-Gap Clearance so you can really drive it kahit sa bukid or sa Baha.
The front row can accomodate 3 persons... the Driver is centrally positioned.... meaning... you can drive it even in Japan or Philippines without the need of converting it from RHD to LHD.
THe Rear Section is designed to accomodate a few Balikbayan Boxes... the Top roof is also detachable and pivotal in order to accomodate 4 passengers or a Refrigerator... pag kinarga mo Ref mo dito... hindi matatapon ang Freon kasi pirming nakatayo.
It has an Exoskeleton to provide more space inside... The exoskeleton is made from Tubular G.I.'s (kayat sana - di na tayo mag export ng scrap at sana buhayin ulit ang mga foundry shops natin.)
Magwheels can be supplied by ROX - diyan lang yun malapit sa moonwalk.
windshields and other glass windows can be supplied by Aguila glass.
ATOY can supply BOdy Enhancement Kits.
Almazora can supply the seats and other interior parts...
Lights by HELLA...
Engine and Tranny by NORKIS!
electrical Harnesses can be suplied by Torres...
etc.
THIS CONCEPT IS CALLED "4MAd2"
Other uses - Slalom Racing or Drifting and Drag Racing and Rallye.
Anyways let me know what you think..Thanks for looking.
Very good yan! malapit talaga sa target ng design team. marunong ka ba mag-3D? i-3D mo na yan. kung serious ka, contact dprox for more info.
Guys, in every endeavor there will always be people who will try to put you down and these are mostly people who have NOTHING to contribute. Their sole purpose is to criticize. You guys have a lot of talent and I really hope this plan of yours pushes through. When your hard work comes into fruition, there will still be those who will criticize, but more people will applaud you for doing something most can only dream about.
I really hope to see a truly Filipino vehicle someday. I have no talent in design but I regularly check this forum because Im hopeful that one day, when you finally realize your goals, I can say that I was there when history was being made (kahit miron lang)
That is probably one of the most modest and enouraging reply I have ever seen... Thank you very much! - you know, for many of us Pinoy Talents - a little push can really help a lot. Sometimes... for those who are still in the dreaming stages... pouring cold water on them is not very helpful at all.
However, I am not really discouraging the negative critics... or the Nay-sayers... Light is only appreciated more when you see the darker shades of pale... more specially, the dark sides.
Growing up as a young dreamer myself, I was obstructed by so many people who discouraged me... naysayers, realists and benchwarmers... all telling me... "Keep Dreaming!"... but saying it in a mocking manner. I had constantly fought their subliminal suggestions and I kept my dreams to myself. In other words... I fought out this negative criticisms the hardway. Little by little, I built my reputation - the hard way. I always believed someday I will be able to build a vehicle of my own design... I was 3rd grade when I made this my goal. I was able to achieve 50% of this dream when I was in Junior High... and I was able to build one prototype at te age of 30... due to lack of financial backing - I wasnt able to push it to commercial or industrial proportions... but -heck - I was able to prove something to myself. Therefore, no need to prove anything to the world. Inspite of that, I was still battling Philippine realities... lack of right networks was also the main reason why I had to stop dreaming for at least 7 years. But, call it a miracle... I have reached my dream last year... just before this PhUV thing came out in the surface.
At any rate, this forum is indeed very helpful for all the young dreamers... designers...
Car Design is not a One Man Show... it takes a team to build dreams.
Milo for instance, has the energy and passion - Key element in design. Rendering in Illustrator is already something... I suggest you focus in it and master it for the meantime... and in your spare time - learn 3D. Read Automotive Engineering Magazines, Popular Science, HOT ROD and other Helpful resources... This will boost your car culture and awareness in terms of design philosophies.
Regarding Big Boy companies... don't be afraid when they copy or take some ideas in this thread... First of all, Immitation is the BEST Compliment.
If they take it, then - you have proven something with yourself... you have what it takes. So - all you need to do is work harder, get conected, and concretize the dream. If you are the source of the original idea or concept, even if they copy or imitate it... nothing to worry about since - you can always innovate it firsthand. Moreover, if we have our ideas published in this thread FIRST - then it will have a digital imprint... meaning... the whole world will know Where they saw that Concept first. ... and they will know who are copying. Remember, in elementary our teachers would always say, NO COPYING! If you get caught, then you fail... If you don't get caught... sooner or later, the consequence of copying will take its toll.
Milo... I have some working designs and I wonder if you can take it a little further than how it looks like right now. Are you up for it?
Very well said. As the saying goes...it all starts with a dream, a vision then I guess the hardest part is the execution itself.
With regards to designing the PhUV... and taking it to the next level...sounds doable although I'm still under contract with my current job right now here in Shanghai, China hence I won't be able to give my 100% attention to this very inspiring project because of my busy schedule. But then again my contract will end this coming November 30 so will see it till i'm back in Manila this december. Form here on I will try to come up with more designs and sketches and thank you for having interest in my work.![]()
Here's another design prototype for the PhUV. Thanks for looking.![]()
hmmm... makintab siya ha at red pa. kinda reminds me of...
Where'd you find this?
Reality check for those who wish to design a PHUV: the limited fabrication techniques available to the local manufacturers and budget contraints are factors that will affect the aesthetics of the first generation PHUV. The PHUV will have flat glass and flat panels. Curved panels can also be used as long as they are bent in one direction only. And then there is the matter of proportion. It won't have SUV proportions (big wheels in relation to the body), rather it will most likely have AUV proportions (small wheels in relation to body - example: the MVPMAP PHUV). The PHUV will have a ladder frame, making it tall. With these limitations in mind, now try to come up with a beautiful design or at least one that won't be the target of Tsikoteers' derision.
This is not to discourage potential PHUV designers. It's a challenge. And a worthy one at that. Mr. Domingo Guevara, the founder of DMG (which assembled the VW Beetle here), once had a vision for the Philippines. He believed that industrialization is the way to becoming a first world nation. This is what the humble PHUV is all about.
Rear drive na naka live rear axle with semi elliptical leaf spring suspension. Front suspension pwedeng torsion beam or double wishbone independent suspension. 2.5 na Foton sourced or 4D56 Mitsubishi diesel engine makina. Thanks for looking again!![]()
