madami tayong factory.. sa pilipinas but alot of them do not manufacture anymore. ginagamit nalang nila factories nila as front para makapag parating ng china and makabenta ng hindi hinuhuling anti-dumping..
i strongly disagree with you 1 million percent! it would give us a footing kung meron tayong steel idustry but economic 101 - japan doesnt have a steel industry yet they were able to produce a better engine, heck wala nga raw material sa japan eh kaya nga napreserve nila yung ganda ng environment nila kasi walang mga minahan kasi walang raw material, as a matter of fact lahat inimport nila since late 1800 to this day! kaya nga sumali mga hapon sa world war 2 para ma monopolize and makuha niya lahat ng raw material sa asia kasi nag embargo u.s. sa kanila.

and yung steel industry ng india ngayon lang gumanda ng ma aquire ni mittal yung mga steel mills sa euorpe, pero in thier local india eh tagaputol at recylce lang ng mga lumang barko source nila ng steel na mura kasi mura labor and mura and madali ma bypass toxic laws sa kanila.
