+ 1 ako sa halcon. a very beautiful and rugged mountain, respected and feared alike by mountaineering enthusiasts

submit ko sana supremo kaso ginamit na iyon dati sa isang 1990's auv. napaisip tuloy ako kasi wala na ata akong nakikita nito sa lansangan

Why don't we just collect names according to categories?
Idugtong niyo na lang dito pag-reply ninyo para di na kailangan bumalik sa page 1.
When our list reaches say 100, then we can criticize them one by one and see which one survives.

:idea:Siyangapala!
Wait just one cocopickin' minute!
Why not simply name the thing after the community that designed & will build it?
This vehicle is Tsikot's baby.
There's no word more Filipino and more Car than "Tsikot".
Genus: Tsikot
Species: UV
Country of Origin: Ph
Maganda rin naman ang emblem ng Tsikot.ph, di ba? Tingnan niyo ~

If we change that to Tsikot.Ph, that equals "Tsikot.Ph UV"

If the Tsikot PhUV will have a website, as it will for sure, then the emblem itself suggests where to log on.

Kaya lang UV siya eh, if it's a car, 'tsikot' will suffice, however it's not, I think I'll buy in with 'Fuerza'

i think the word tsikot applies to all types nowadays. it has become a general term for wheeled-vehicle. in the US, when they say car, it can be anything from a sedan to SUV. trucks and vans are the other general categories.

Minsan lang me nagsalita ng seryoso:

There is a trend nowadays for dynamic-sounding, pseudo-english names...
eg: Innova, Avanza, Alterra, Sportivo, Fortuner... Wala na yung Tamaraw FX brand... it apparently has served its purpose.

Notice this sad fact:
The name 'Tamaraw FX' began use on a relatively bare-bones vehicle (mga cab-chassis and HSPURs, remember them?). The name was gradually phased out as the vehicle added feature upon feature through the years. Hence, I noticed that there seems to be this concept that a native-sounding name connotes poorer quality and/or status for the vehicle... (eg: the status of the Proton Wira in Malaysia)

I believe this is some sort of inferiority complex that we have to somehow adapt to, whether we like it or not. The bright side is that we are not alone... even Ferrari had its post-war Superamericas and Daytonas... these definitely are not Italian names. Maybe someday, malampasan din yang complex na yan, if we ever do get a real world-class car industry...
Maybe then we can dare to name a car 'F360 Marikina'...

Back to the name:
Aside from being 'dynamic', I think the name has to connote some trait that people aspire for...

My humble contribution for a multi-passenger AUV:

Brand: an acronym... ADT o ha? Parang astig diba? (meaning is Auto Design - Tsikot... of course example lang ito, napulot ko sa forum heading... ehehe... I'll think up of something catchier later on)

Model: Pegasus... eheste, Roadstar pala... (taken na ba itong name? I know there is an I-H Loadstar)

Quoted below for ease of reference is sir dprox's list:
