Such patriotic words from the Pinoy living in Australia.

So if you believe so strongly that the "Filipino Can", why not return to the Philippines and seek your fortune here and let us see how far your positive motivation gets you to earn a proper income.

Insecure? So far, the three guys here are all currently living, working and earning in the Philippines day by day. How about you? Can you say the same?

I know it's not that easy to make a living in Australia. I know that you need to work hard to make ends meet there. I once made studies and plans to move to Australia to seek out better/greener "pastures" for myself at one time. But if you are going to make other people believe "the Pinoy Can", you better be ready to lead by example.

Guys, let's refrain from name labeling adjectives like idiot, stupid, etc. It's just... not healthy in a discussion or forum.

Let us respect each other's opinion.

And yes...I agree that the "Filipino can" but more is needed than just a can-do spirit.

    Peace.

didnt know there was a contest

    --

he wins when 100% pinoy made cars roll off an assembly line

not one-of-a-kind vehicles that take months to build just 1 unit (like those iloilo AUVs he keeps posting, which use Japan surplus engines, transmission, differential etc)

the cars have to be of one model... clones...

the cars have to have 100% pinoy made engines and transmission

actual production run of at least 1,000 units (konte na yan ha)

    when that happens, he wins

    The Big Picture says...

It is only the Filipino who is the biggest loser - in the global perspective.

We excel in producing the best workforce to supply to the world. (slaves)

We earn what the world pays us...

Then we buy what the world sells us...

Ika nga... pinaghahanapbuhay lang natin - sila... and we end up patronizing their products....

If you follow the money - clearly - it isn't staying in our pockets - relatively speaking.

We are unaware that we are idolizing foreign icons/ foreign business models and/or marques - subliminally our actions, decisions, views and biases are dictated by what we were fed through subtle but powerful suggestions made by media (their media).

If we can only stop, think and recognize what we have overlooked... we will find we simply lack the vision, imagination and will power to go out of our comfort zones - and start building something.

If we can put all our minds, resources, talents together - I dont see any reason why we will become a force in the automotive world in the near future.

GH is a Mechanical engineer who built his 3-wheeler car during his college days in Lasalle. JPDM is a professor in Developmental Studies... putting these two - top caliber brains can and will become a strong force already.

I am most of the time lost in expressing myself... but what goes on in my brain as I see big potentials go to waste due to a self-destructive mechanism implanted to us by the powers above us... is not going to benefit the Filipino as a whole.

It's not about what the Filipino is capable of anymore.... it's about catalyzing the Filipino minds to work together - no matter where they are coming from.

We are already a seasoned people... thriving from crisis to crisis... truly a resilient race with so much brain power. But - with the the trap of everyone thinking they are more intelligent or better than another... sets in - we as a nation or race will never be able to see the opportunities waiting for all of us just around the corner.

We are much better than mere entertainers or gladiators... this is the reason why I was never fond of watching noontime shows or boxing... these programs our brain to fight against our own kind. This is the self-destructive mechanism that prevents us to be above the rest of the world.

by the way.... I didn't applied for that Saudi Truck Project - I was sweet talked to handle it. Originally, I thought the Filipino can be recognized in the end - if everything worked out right. Best Regards everyone. Let's get our acts together. Make this a better nation... we can start right here, right now from within. Of course we can.... and Of course we will.

    yep that's accurate

the Philippines is just one big manpower agency

the money sent home by OFWs goes to end-user consumption

ever wondered why a devoloping country like ours has so many malls?

It's not about what the Filipino is capable of anymore.... it's about catalyzing the Filipino minds to work together - no matter where they are coming from.
that's what i keep telling jpdm.

Pinoys are skilled and talented. We know that already. We get it already.

    let's go beyond that

Can we start at respecting each other's opinions?

I also agree to donbuggy that nobody with enough intellect should resort to ad hominem attacks. It's just...stupid.

And like ehnriko stated, watching noontime shows is also quite stupid.

    Amen to them.

Well, just saving myself the effort of typing a thousand chosen words, especially if a single picture would convey it much better and to the point.

Why waste words when someone would claim that MATH & ALGEBRA is a personal opinion? Why waste words when someone's idea of an environmental green movement is the development of tens to hundred thousands more motorized vehicles with internal combustion engines all over the country. Why waste words when someone would ignore your responses/queries and just spam the thread with pointless pictures and ancient news articles in the hopes to bury the posted message?

So back to the question: Can we start at respecting each other's opinions?

Maybe if when their opinion is worth the respect.

Well, I dunno about jpdm, but he is in a forum.

He violated no. 5 of rules on posting; and violated no. 1 of rules on behavior. But I never saw any rules that say that violators will be publicly ridiculed by means of ad hominem.

Exactly. "Forum" and not GREENPEACE. If someone wants to be answered in "green" answers and "eco-friendly" solutions only, I may suggest another venue.
