Just passed the PGA along EDSA and noticed a pretty Red Audi A3 sa loob ng showroom. Does anyone know the specs and price??

Some information I got. There are three models, 1.6 gas (100hp) at P2.25 m , 2.0T diesel (140hp) at P2.65m and a 3.2 V6 quattro {don't ask}.

Uhh... am I hearing right... the 1.6 gas costs 2.25? Erk! Give me the 2.0T diesel anytime! Pero at those prices, you could even get an A4 Avant, couldn't you?

I was thinking the same thing, the A4 sedan 2.0T diesel cost 2.79 and has more car than the A3. I was hoping it would at least be at par w/ the BMW 1 series price-wise. Sabi ng ahente mahal daw talaga yung A3 sa Europe...:thud: As a consolation, kakabili ni Capt. Barbel ng dalawang A3 daw.:fish:

Is it said ba kung yung 2.0 T diesel comes with multitronic 7-speed CVT and quattro or just fwd 2.0 T diesel lang siya?

The 2.0T diesel comes with a revolutionary transmission...ito yung isang description sa A3' : "Wagon-made-cool styling, powerful engine, upscale interior, possibly the world's greatest transmission (DSG)."


DSG stands for Direct Shift Gearbox, and as the name implies this transmission maintains a direct connection between the engine and the driven wheels without the use of a torque converter. Effectively reducing BMW's SMG, Toyota's SMT and Ferrari's F1-style manual transmissions to second-tier status, Audi's DSG uses two clutches to "preselect" the next gear before disengaging the active gear. The result is a truly "automaticlike" crispness between gears on upshifts, with all the rev-matching and rapid-fire responsiveness you could ever want on downshifts. Is there any downside to DSG? We noticed the car will roll a few extra inches before finally stopping when it's placed in "Park," and we didn't appreciate our test car's ability to upshift on its own at 7,400 rpm, even when operated in "manual" mode. The BMW, Ferrari and Toyota systems will let you bounce off the rev-limiter until the end of Robert Blake's latest murder trial. We wish Audi would incorporate the same philosophy. --
