March 18th, 2003 01:22 PM #1For Vanette 97 - dual AC
Dont know if I got it right but my mechanic suggested that I relocate the upright AC condenser(?) infront of the engine to be placed horizontal at the underside of the passenger side door.
He says that instead of the AC condenser sharing the fan with the radiator, might as well relocate it far from the engine bay with its own fan.
Does this sound okay?
The mechanic says I'll be needing an aux fan, about 8ft rubber flexible cooling cables, a full charge of freon. He'll just weld an assembly/support for the mechanism - to cost me about 3T.

can be done.......... your engine will run much cooler.
use copper tubing instead of rubber hoses mas prone sa tagas yung rubber.
di kaya sumayad yan? just make sure na ndi.

March 18th, 2003 06:36 PM #3vanettes are known on overheating problem. So, relocating your a/c condenser will allow more 'fresh air' to go through your radiator, resulting to more effecient cooling system. the mechanic said it's cooler a/c bcoz the condenser will not anymore absorb some additional heat (from the radiator), which enables the freon to liquify more, thus cooler liquid to flow through the evaporator.
no problem with the location. dagdag gastos nga lang.

March 18th, 2003 11:04 PM #4Yes, tama mo yun option na iyun....sana ang tirada nila ay parang casa ang yari.
The hose cable would not leak if it is not clamped (using ordinary hose clamp) but rather the special clamp that they use pang hi-pressure hoses. Merong ganitong tool ang mga aircon shops (the good ones).
Tama the cost would reach P3K sa ganun, kasi ang aux fan lang is around 900 to 1500. The hose should be less than P500 and freon recharge around P800 (kasi dual so mas maraming freon).
Pero kung bibili ka pa ng aux fan, talo ka na yata.

March 19th, 2003 11:09 AM #5The rubber hose would be crimped using a tool in the AC shops, the mechanic says that that is already what is being used in most late model cars na e.
Thanks guys -that would be an option for me later this year. Got to to check up/ use up first the aircon kasi the optio wasnt brought up to my attention before ako nagpagawa e.
