    everybody, thanks for the replies.

as far as the signs tell, the radiator and water pump are operating normally. no leaks no oil stains steady water flow etc. hoses and caps are looks intact.

except for the lost of water (about 6-8 ounces a day with a 100kms drive even with) and flactuating temp (even with a strong coolnant mix) but not overheating or even nearing 100c. max 95c according to temp gauge.

main suspect is a faulty radiator since it was purchased as a surplus 8mos ago, medyo may kupi na ibang fins. and a distant second is the water pump because its an old car. a very distant third, may crack ang reservoir bottle ko where steam is escaping pero 8 ounces of steam/water, hard to believe

because of budget constraints, out muna radiator or water pump replacement/repair.

as stop gap solution, will try some "stop leaks" chemicals. i have seen 2 kinds, a small yellow bottle of powder, and a liquid made by prestone.

will go for the prestone chemical. i powder stuff looks dangerous and might damage something in the engine, but way way cheaper

Regarding your fluctuating temp. but no overheating: Try to check your manifold thermostat.

pinalitan ko na rad cap, nakabili ako sa DIY SHOP. actually 3 times nako nag overheat. the first one is last December.

the 1st one is nag-clogged ung radiator, pinalinis ko then ok na ulit. the 2nd one was last March, it was a Water Pump problem, pinalitan ko na rin then ok na. then the last one is these past few months.

i've search this forum about overheating and me nabasa ako about Cylinder head gasket, piston ring and Valve seal na mga dapat palitan pag lagi nago-overheat kahit wala naman ako makita leaks sa ilalim ng kotse. my radiator is a single row surplus.

nag canvass ako the ff: item

    cylinder head gasket - 950
    1 set piston ring - 1,000+
    2 rows evercool - 4,800
    upper & lower hose - 580
ba to located? and mga magkano kaya tong valve seal?
kindly give me also an idea kung mga magkano sisingilin ng mekaniko pag
    lahat nito eh papalitan.

i can't go to speedyfix, dito kasi ko sa Dagupan medyo hindi pa pwede ibyahe malayo dahil nga mago-overheat.

    thanks for any info.

    mahal din pala new radiator,

maybe thermostat problem din sa akin, really need a mchanic for that.

will also buy a new radiator cap narin kahit wala ako kita signs my old one is broken. along with prestone chemicals, a new cap might actually be a good quick solution (may sale sa handyman this weekend, thats where i intend to buy these stuff)

dito lang mahal samin, pero sa manila medyo mura yata, me nabasa ako 4k or less pa yata.

ung thermostat ko at thermoswitch is meron pa, kaya lang napapansin ko kasi ang tagal bago umikot ng fan, kaya for the meantime, nag jumper muna ako sa relay box para laging nakaswitch. pag napaayos ko na lahat saka ko na lang ibalik ung fuse nya.

bumili me ng rad cap sa handy man, 110 lang yung .9. so, far nasa half pa lang yung reading ng temp (city driving). can't wait to try on a long journey.

at last naayos din. dinala ko sa mekaniko kilala ko, i told the problem. nabangit ko pa nga palitan na piston ring, cylinder head gasket, valve seal, if in case un talaga problem. iniwan ko sa kanya the whole day and he found out nga na cylinder head gasket is one of the culprit, then mga turnilyo na mahaba na nag loose tread hindi ko na matandaan ung tamang term nya kasi lack of knowledge ako sa maintenance basta me pina-machine shop kami at umabot ng 1,800, nakalagay dun sa job order is Cylinder Head Resurface, then 1,200 naman ung cylinder head gasket na bakal, asbestos daw kasi ung nakalagay sa car kaya nagka-crack. then sabay change oil na rin, me ibang maliliit na item pa syang binili inabot mga 300. then inayos nya na rin ung sa rad fan kasi minsan hindi daw naga-automatic. then we test drive it 30kms. ayun ok na hindi na tumataas ung temp at di na rin nagbabawas tubig ung rad. i ask him kung palitan na rin piston ring, sabi nya ok pa naman daw kung di naman sira wag muna palitan.

at first i thought ung surplus rad ang problem nun pala something inside ng makina me mga diprensya, sa tagal na din daw kasi ng mga kotse normal lang na me mga wear and tear parts.

so far so good, but i think i should still change rad into 2 rows para sure.

If you're going in that direction, just buy the new radiator. A surplus may be in worse condtion than your current one or may not be much better. Better safe than sorry.
