September 16th, 2012 04:40 PM #32So many positive reviews/feedback that made me feel confident trusting my ride's aircon to Mang Mario and his men in Fort Santiago street Bago Bantay Q.C back of SM North Edsa. Got no problem with Mang Mario to be honest he is fun to talk with and seems nice . It's his wife together with some of his men that is causing the problem. Dahil sila mismo ang nakakaharap ng customer in terms of service and presyohan. Yung wife po nya ibang klaseng maki-pag deal and mag presyo pag di kakilala or pag bago lang ang customer.
What i get was two things:
1. I was Overcharge Twice
2. I was told they will put a Brand New Magnetic Coil kasama na service which total charge of 1,500... But what I get was a replacement/second hand coil that was rewinded by an unknown shop.
Regards to all…Last edited by Acer1; September 16th, 2012 at 04:43 PM. Reason: to complete a thought of a sentence

September 16th, 2012 06:40 PM #33You're posting the same thing in two threads, for maximum impact? Seriously I'm sure this is a back job due to unforeseen issues. So at the very least its a failure in diagnostics, and second your vehicle isn't exactly a spring chicken to require third party service providers to fix.
Give the fella a break. If you're dissatisfied tell him upfront. I doubt Mang Mario even lurks in this forum.
BTW I'm not a customer of his. Just sayin'.

Sir acer, im sure nakaka frustrate yung ganyang predicament... There are other shops to choose from, depende lang talaga sa budget... And sa level of expertise... At least eh natuklasan mo early on... Yung nga lang it caused you some stress... Hehehe.

September 16th, 2012 09:45 PM #35sa tingin ko ok lang naman yung presyo nila . pull out evap/compressor plus bearing , freon . sa shop ko i charge more than this.
yun naman coil ok pa rin ang pricing . pull out compressor uli plus freon . ala kasi sila recovery machine kaya they have to charge again .walang warranty sa freon .
about the workmanship , i consider it below par since they don't have the proper equipment .
yun naman sabi nila na brand new yung coil ,price agad sa store around 1500 . dito hindi nila explain sa yo ang details . dapat explained nila na hindi warranty job yun dahil hindi naman nila pinalitan yung coil. electrical parts fail anytime . the time they were
performing diagnostics , the coil was within specs .
proper explanaton lang siguro since hindi mo nakausap si mang Mario at sya ang technical guy dun .yung misis hindi technical kaya walang masabing tama sa yo.
ano pa man ,hindi na kailangan baklasin pa yung
AC components para i leak test . next time hanap ka ng shop na fully equipped , you pay extra pero quality naman .

I can relate to the thread starter's frustration. I've had back jobs with the said shop also. But all were resolved or corrected. Hence they still do the a/c work on the fleet vehicles and my personal vehicles.
Our ambulance alone has had 3 visits at the shop this year. To repair a leak in the front a/c followed by a leak in the rear a/c and then the aux fan failed (probably due to habagat water fording).
Maybe this is a form of miscommunication between the shop and the client. Something which Mang Mario wouldn't mind if you brought it up directly to him. Remember, his wife is usually just in the back office and details may sometimes go past her. They can set the prices they want but I don't think they will dupe clients on purpose. When it comes to a/c work, Mang Mario is in charge, but in the business side of things, it is his wife that handles the affairs. Because according to Mang Mar, he is too kind to customers and would most likely give everyone a free ride. Even I'm still charged at normal shop prices despite being a customer since 1997.
And as I've posted, there are numerous other a/c shops nowadays and it's best to go to one that you are comfortable with next time. Cool Tec, Aves, etc. all get rave reviews from real world pals and I wouldn't mind trying them out also. I know the frustration that the thread starter feels as I've had run ins with other shops also. I'm just hoping for a speedy and fair resolution to this.

September 16th, 2012 11:36 PM #37Yung sa coil
No freon charge was done since they said freon is still intact.
They did not pulled out the compressor (Dinukot lang sa ilalim)
What they did was replace the magnetic coil with a reconditioned/rewinded 2nd hand coil.
It was supposed be a brand new coil based on the quotation given to me.
I trusted Mang Mario's wife when she said it will be replaced with a brand new one.
I don't mind paying 1,500 or more as long as it is brand new that they put in.
Again they charge me what is equivalent to having a brand new coil but what I get was a 2nd hand reconditioned/rewinded coil which will not worth that much.
Pagdating sa pagkuha ng parts and mag price/quotation sa customer, Hindi mo makakausap si Mang Mario kungdi tanging yung wife nya lang ang makakausap mo.

September 17th, 2012 12:35 AM #38Did you confront Mang Mario with this discovery before you went here?
If it wasn't brand new then you should have negotiated with them.

September 18th, 2012 08:42 AM #40the correct term they should use is "Reconditioned" and not brand new...
its just the same when you buy the coil for your electric fan, you will surrender the busted coil in exchange for the reconditioned coil
I wouldn't even have known that car existed if not for your post ...
