January 16th, 2018 08:42 PM #383Hi, I went to Mang Danny earlier. He said the problem of my AC is the evaporator. It's around 3.7k + 2.5k labor. Ok na ba yun?
I also went to P.I. car aircon in retiro and Frigid zone kamias, ang sabi nila cleaning daw muna then check if evaporator problem. Same sila sinabi. hehe.

Take note that AC cleaning is around 4.5-5.5k. If makita nila na may problem ang evap mo, youll pay the new evap plus labor on top of cleaning.
If i were you, ill take mang danny's advice and to replace the evap for the same price of AC cleaning.
I had a very similar scenario with frigid zone last year but i went thru with them na rin since nandun na ang kotse and it also needed general AC cleaning. Maganda rin naman gawa nila. Paid 14k total iircLast edited by JJB; January 16th, 2018 at 09:08 PM.

January 17th, 2018 01:21 AM #386Di niya sinabi exactly pero parang may pinakita siya na evaporator tas may medyo yellow-ish. Sabi niya parang ganun daw nangyari sakin. So he advised na replaced evaporator na Btw, laminated daw yung evaporator na ipapalit. Pag ba laminated, hindi original? Tama po ba?
Nope. Pinka cheap na kay mang danny. Sa PI car aircon, he quoted me na 3.8k cleaning tas pag sira daw evaporator, di pa niya masabi how much yung evaporator kasi 1st time nila mag handle ng almera.
Frigid zone naman, 3.5k cleaning + labor then 5.5k for the evaporator.
TIA.

January 18th, 2018 07:19 PM #390replace the evaporator only if it needs replacement (i.e., butas!). otherwise, it'd be a waste of money to do so.
with or without new evaporator, they'd still clean the rest of the aircon system for the same "cleaning" price, right?
laminated or serpentine.
even if they seem to have the same dimensions and can frequently be interchanged, they look different because they were designed different.
either can be OEM.
i recommend you follow the original.
i once had my serpentine (very expensive!) in-advertently replaced by laminated (much cheaper).
the resulting coldness was unripe.. hanging... (hilaw... bitin..).
after a week of suffering, i went back and had the original serpentine replacement. after that, the coldness was factory spec again.
btw, "...yellow-ish..." sounds like a leak. and while it is still possible to have it fixed, it takes special equipment and training, to do so.Last edited by dr. d; January 18th, 2018 at 07:35 PM.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
