    see if the fan blades are rubbing against something. then see if it can be remedied.
    if none, or if you can not, then i suppose it is time to replace the motor or (ugh!) the frame/assembly. most motors can be removed from the frame and replaced.
    aux fan servicing is a straightforward thing. the most difficult part is usually the money.

    if your replacement part is hideously expensive (8K for some), you might try the generic ones selling for less than 900 bucks for the entire assembly. see if it will fit yours, with a little tweaking.

    Thanks dr d. Very much appreciated. Tom will try to check if i can remove thr fan and clean it. If the rubbing noise will still be there then will be needing to drop into an auto aircon shop.
