Then yung thermostat daw po sira.

basta, unahin mo nalang mam yun freon level ipa-check. mind you po, what's your tsikot?

from the description, it sounds like two problems.
Compressor that doesn't compress anymore and busted A/C thermostat.
The best route is to have both items replaced with similar parts. The compressor will be expensive. You can get it cheaper if you purchase from Banawe (there is a store there that sells car A/C parts). You can haggle the price but it will still be pricy. Cheaper option is to get surplus but this will be a hit-or-miss job because you don't know if the surplus compressor will last six years or six months before failing.

anyway po mam, kung ok naman po ang freon level and no leaks po, dun na po ang bagsak nyan, compressor and thermostat. thermostat is cheap, say 1k kasama na labor. pero ang compressor, brand new sa kotse, rough estimate ko is around 8-10k, which is very expensive. IMHO mam, get a brand new compressor para sure ka na tatagal yan ng years. just like sir gh said, eh hit or miss tayo sa surplus. HTH po mam!
OT: seems that you're new here, we welcome you here in tsikot! welcome to tsikot family!

June 8th, 2009 05:35 PM #8thanks po for welcoming me :D

^^^I agree with den1106, get a second opinion first before tinkering with your aircon unit. Yun compressor can be reapired also, depende sa model.
