    Here's what happened:

    Car: Nissan Maxima 89

Engine got recently replaced, then nagpa karga ako ng Freon, nag leak check naman yung nagkarga along the engine bay. So after ng karga, mukha naman ok, kasi umuwi ako ng malamig ang AC, and ramdam mo dun sa copper tubes yung lamig...

After a few days, punta kami hospital, doon ko naramdaman na di lumalamig ac, kapag naka_on naman gumagana condenser and you can also hear na nagbago menor.

I already tried all level settings, made sure na nasa cool yung isang switch, and AC button is pressed. kaso wala talaga.

    ano kaya problema?

if the a/c system had been left open during the engine replacement, you should have had the system serviced too. that is, evacuate, replace receiver/dryer, replace all o-rings, replace expansion valve and had the system vacuumed for at least 20 minutes under 29 inHg and verified it it held the vacuum for at least ten minutes after vacuum pump shut down. then recharge with new or reputable recycled refrigerant for trouble free system for at least three years

What do you mean the ac system left open during engine replacement?

    TIA ulit

Yes, ibaba yung evaporator for cleaning.

    THanks...

Btw, can anyone help me verify what type of refrigerant an 89 maxima should use?

Is R12 different from 134a? Though I am not sure if the maxima indeed is suppose to use R12, I believe I told the AC tech to put 134a. What happens if I use the wrong type of refrigerant?

AC mech seems to be all working...

And I may have been the cause of the problem after all...

    TIA

I believe R12 ang refrigerant used in that year model (I might be wrong though).

The least na modification para lumamig muli ang hangin ay palitan ng expansion valve with the same capacity as before but for 134a system.

sana ok, looks ok pa naman, pwede ko ba pa-flush out yung 134a then pa-charge ko ulit with R12

Yes flush & evacuate the system, recharge with R12 to full capacity then it should be ok.

    Yikes! double post..sorry.

No problem basta non-appearance ang pag register. Kailangan completo papers especially ang emission test result. At least ganito ang gawa ko before I sent to junk yard ang 79 toyota corona ko. ( bigla ko tuloy na miss my old, old car sa tagal ng pinagsamahan namin )
