OMODA & JAECOO Philippines has officially launched the JAECOO J5 EV, introducing its newest all-electric SUV to the local market with a starting price of ₱1,399,000.
The J5 EV arrives following strong sales in neighboring markets, where it was the best-selling pure electric SUV in Thailand and Indonesia during the first half of 2026.
Powering the J5 EV is a 58.9-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery paired with a 155-kW (208 PS) permanent magnet electric motor producing 288 Nm of torque. OMODA & JAECOO claims the electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds while delivering a driving range of up to 461 kilometers under the NEDC testing cycle.
The battery also supports DC fast charging, allowing the charge level to increase from 30% to 80% in around 28 minutes.
During a real-world range test under the observation of the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), ,the J5 EV covered 539.2 kilometers on a single charge, exceeding its official 461-kilometer NEDC-rated range by more than 78 kilometers.
Inside, the J5 EV features a spacious cabin with a 480-liter luggage compartment complemented by a 35-liter front trunk (frunk). Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, wireless smartphone charger, digital instrument cluster, large infotainment display, voice control, over-the-air software updates, and connected vehicle functions.
Safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition, a 360-degree Around View Monitor, Electronic Stability Control, and multiple airbags.
OMODA & JAECOO Philippines also announced what it describes as one of the country’s first Battery State of Health (SOH) warranties. Under the program, the company will replace the battery free of charge if its State of Health falls below 70% within the applicable warranty period, subject to the warranty’s terms and conditions.
To mark the launch, the company is offering up to ₱69,800 in introductory ownership benefits. These include a reservation incentive, repurchase and referral bonuses, one year of complimentary preventive maintenance service, one year of roadside assistance, three years of mobile remote vehicle control service, and a complimentary 7-kW wall charger.
The JAECOO J5 EV is now available through authorized OMODA & JAECOO dealerships nationwide with an official retail price of ₱1,399,000.
